After I consulted Dr Xavier Sim (Consultant Clinical Haematologist) in November 2023, I was moved to email the CEO of SJMC. The CEO read the compliment (along with other doctors and nurses mentioned in my email) in SJMC's annual dinner. Besides the non-negotiable competency patients require, here's why I say Dr Xavier is the crème de la crème of the specialists: 1) Ushering patients (today a staff confirmed he is the only one who does this), 2)very thorough examination and enquiry of medical/ family history, 3) his motivating positivity, and 4) extreme patience. After explaining the results of procedures and subsequent follow-ups, he said, "From your results, there is nothing abnormal you should worry about. Most importantly, see yourself as a normal healthy person. Take precaution, and live your normal life." It was the last point that set Dr Xavier apart. The mindset of doctor matters! What I notice is some patients are very weak in physical body. A gentle (positive) way of delivering news (esp bad ones) will help in averting further anxiety. Today, I was blessed to have received the help of an amazing staff, Elaine Low. She went beyond her duty to help me. Truly grateful to have met her. These kind gestures of staffs, nurses and doctors have made SJMC my go-to hospital (not that I wish to visit regularly). I have been a regular blood donor in SJMC since 2004 because of Siva, the nurse. She's extremely skillful in drawing blood from "invisible" veins. Photo of Dr Xavier extracted from SJMC's website.

Excellent and super fast respond, prefered walk in as an international patient's family to get clear and direct instruction. They say the process is within 2 or 3 weeks, but the medical report department settled all in less than 3 days. Thank you for Doctor Alan Teh and the med report deptartment, they worth higher appreciation words than thank you. Special thanks to Miss Anathasia Aniston Raymond and Miss Manjit Kaur Pretham Singh. God Bless you in all good things you do ^_^

I came to SMJ from Jakarta. There I was treated by Dr. Teh, she is one of a kind. I came without any diagnostic documents and chose to do an ultrasound, mammogram, and biopsy at SMJ. Everything was very well organized, and finished in one day without wasting time. Very well organized. When I had my biopsy, I was accompanied and assisted by Nurse Shaminy, she was very gentle and patient. She made me very calm. I just can’t thank you enough.
