I was diagnosed with glaucoma 9 years ago. I was treated by doctors using eye drops to control the pressure in my eyes. I started with one eye drop for my right eye and eventually I had to use four types of eye drops to control the pressure in both of my eyes. I was under the bondage of the eye drops for the past 9 years. Wherever I went, whether it was within Malaysia or overseas, the eye drops had to follow me. Thank God that a church member recommended me to see Dr Shin in Ipoh Eye Specialist Centre. Dr Shin suggested Trabeculectomy surgery to reduce the pressure in both eyes. Initially I was worry about this glaucoma surgery but Dr Shin patiently explained the whole procedure to me to alleviate my concern. I had surgery done on my left eye in July 2019 and the surgery on the right eye was done in September 2019. I thank God for the skillful hands of Dr Shin to enable the surgeries to be carried out smoothly and successfully. Since then I have not used glaucoma eye drops for a year now and the pressure readings in both of my eyes are within the acceptable range. I thank God and Dr Shin for helping me to be free from the bondage of eye drops. Dr were well equipped with info, patiently explain on my condition and advice the best solution for my eyes. After 30+ years wearing glasses, finally i got chance to feel whats like going to bathroom early morning without bother to look for glasses.
