My first two visits to Tung Shin hospital were satisfactory. It was a general physician. The doctor was experienced, cooperative and well-behaved. Considering my previous positive experiences, I made an appointment with an Ophthalmologist, Dr. Rita Yong Choy Lan, who was an experienced Dr. However, the thing that was not positive, was her uncooperative attitude based upon not sharing the patient's own eyesight number. Her assistant checked the eye sight both manually and computerized and noted down the details. When the patient requested for the eye sight number for making glasses, she directly and rudely turned down the request saying it was for the hospital's record and not for the patient. The patient has the full right about knowing about their eye sight number and other details as the patient, esp. a foreigner has already paid RM 200 for only the so-called consultation. I request the authorities to look into such matters where the patients' basic rights are not fulfilled.
