Horrible experience of my visit of Dr Jeffrey (Orthopaedic department) this morning. We reached there by 9.35am this morning. Even though there was only one patient ahead of us in the queue, we ended up waited for 1.5 hours. Yes, 1 patient. 1.5 hours. And eventually we realized that the doctor was spending time sembang / “teaching” / “guiding” three interns / practitioners from IMU. While I understand the importance of training and education, it is concerning that this was prioritized over the timely care of waiting patients. Like many others, I have limited time off from work, and such delays are both inconvenient and stressful. Furthermore, when we finally got to see him, the consultation lasted only 5 minutes. Despite the short duration, we were charged almost RM300 for the consultation, with the total bill amounting to nearly RM600 including medicine. This experience has left me feeling that the service was unprofessional and did not prioritize patient care appropriately. I hope SMC can review this matter seriously as it reflects poorly on the standards I expect from a reputable medical centre like Sunway Medical Centre.
