I made an appointment to see the doctor here because of their professionalism. The equipment is advanced, complete, and well-maintained. However, some of the nurses here are not very competent. Before the surgery, a nurse reminded me that I needed to take some medication. As I was being wheeled from the ward to the operating room, I remembered the nurse had reminded me about the medication, so I asked about it. It turned out they had forgotten to give it to me. My goodness, if I hadn't remembered, I would have missed taking the medicine. Because of this, I became very cautious afterwards, afraid they might forget something else. Another issue was with a Malay female employee at Dr. Koay ENT's counter. Her attitude and tone were very unfriendly. When I confirmed the surgery date with her, she said she would call me back to inform me of the time. However, by the end of the workday, there was still no response. I had to call her repeatedly myself to clarify, and she had forgotten to notify us. I hope they can be clear about their responsibilities and not forget the most important things for patients. I have never encountered such problems at other hospitals I've visited before. I hope they can improve. Only then will we have confidence in receiving treatment at this hospital.

I am extremely grateful! I received treatment at Sunway Medical Centre from the highly experienced and ethical DR. KOAY CHENG ENG (郭政胤), who treated a particularly large nasal tumor. On the afternoon of January 12, 2023, he performed surgery to remove the tumor. Afterwards, I experienced no adverse effects, no pain, no nosebleeds, no fever, and no negative impacts. The swelling in my mouth subsided immediately. I am very fortunate to have received rescue. Even after my tumor was removed, he continued to show unwavering concern, visiting me several times until the evening, checking on me and offering comfort until my health condition allowed me to be discharged that day. Terrible experience with Dr Koay Cheng Eng ENT who left me with a huge hole in my septum and nasal valve collapse. Saw him for breathing difficulties and was pushed for unnecessary surgery to correct a deviated septum. I ended up with a large perforated septum that has left me with difficulty breathing, chronic sinus issues, nasal valve collapse and constant nasal whistling down the line which is very embarrassing to live with. When I went back to consult dr, he tried to ignore the problems caused, even telling me, I quote: “your breathing should actually be easier, since it is such a big hole in your septum you have more space in your airway”. What a joke! This has left me with a lifelong complication that has a low chance of being corrected even with specialist reconstruction, that could have been avoided if this dr had been more knowledgeable or responsible.
