Dr Yong Ked Sheong is a wonderful eye surgeon. He did a great job for my father's first check up, which is then followed by a minor lid surgery on both of his eyes. He is very kind and friendly. He explained everything to us in a very clear manner. All of the staff were great and helpful. I am so glad I chose Dr. Yong Ked Sheong and would highly recommend him to anyone needing optometric care. He is the safeguard of your vision. Ipoh Eye Specialist Centre is also a government authorised centre to provide Covid-19 vaccination.

I had my cataract surgery done on 16/04/21 and 21/04/21. Thank you very much Dr. Yong for your expertise and encouragements. Thank you for the studio Ghibli music that soothed my fear even though I was unable to relax totally for both surgery. That was simply because I still could see through my eyes how my lens was removed and replaced throughout the whole operation. Thanks again Dr. Yong for Both surgery was very successful. There were no infections and bleeding neither nor any discomfort. Regarding the management side, I have 2 comments to make. 1. hidden charges? In my personal opinion, patients should be well informed the actual cost that we have to prepare for the budget, which includes: the cost of lens package chosen + the cost of pre surgery check up + the cost of necessary prescriptions / medication after surgery. I was not informed of other charges except the cost of two main surgery. I think this kind of marketing practice is not advisable. 2. understand patient’s need first on the day when I was making payment after surgery appointment booked and body checkup done. I asked the staff how much the surgery cost, Instead of asking what is my budget ? which package I want? she quickly answered: RM 6500 each. I was a bit confused because I remembered the catalog I saw showed various type of lens ranged between RM2500 to RM 8000 above. In order to make sure whether that is really the lens I want I requested to see the person who in charge of explaining the package again. Thank you for that beautiful lady who answered my questions patiently( So sorry I forgot to ask her name). Anyway I managed to choose the right lens for my need at last.

Throughout the procedure, Dr Yong has been really great. With his calm assuring voice, He would Pre inform what he will be doing next. Was gentle too which did not cause me much discomfort. As for some of the nurses/staff, they need to be more patient and detailed in explaining the insurance claim procedures, the advantages and disadvantages or even giving other options if necessary.
