I was diagnosed with rectum cancer in Oct 2023. When National Cancer Institute informed does not provide surgical for rectum cancer, I was looking for a private hospital until a family friend recommended us a specialist at Avisena Specialist Hospital. Dr Ragu Ramasamy , he is an experienced colorectal surgeon and has performed 3 surgeries on me; Transverse colostomy in August 2024, Surgical on malignant neoplasm of rectum in Feb 2025 and Closure of transverse colostomy recently in Jan 2026. He is very detailed and passion towards his work. Surgical procedures were done with a good team includes Dr Esa consultant anaesthesiologist who has vast experience in managing colorectal patient anaesthetic. Dr Ragu ensures i understood all option before proceeding with the surgery. He provides exceptional care from diagnosis to recovery. After seeing him ,I have no doubt we made a right choice . During my visit at the clinic, he was assisted by nurse Syuhada, who is exceptionally commited and followed up personally for my appointments. While I was admitted to the hospital, admission and discharge were smooth. Thank you to the staff. Highly recommended to those who requires a quality health management .

I have been suffering from recurrent perianal fistula for the past four months, with pain in the affected region that came and went. Since 2018, I have undergone five surgeries at two different hospitals, yet the condition remained unresolved. Due to this long and challenging journey, I took time to research thoroughly before deciding on my next consultation. Based on the search, I have selected Avisena Hospital for Dr. Ragu Ramasamy (Consultant General & Colorectal Surgeon). From the first consultation, I found Dr. Ragu to be highly convincing, experienced, and reassuring, especially after learning about the complex cases he has successfully managed. He explained my condition clearly, laid out all possible options, and discussed the way forward in a structured and transparent manner. What truly stood out was his decision not to rush into surgery. Instead, he chose to monitor my condition carefully and waited for the fistula tract to mature before proceeding. I strongly believe that the best surgeons know when not to operate and when is appropriate; Dr. Ragu exemplifies this principle. After thorough investigation and assessment, he selected the best surgical approach for my case—one that allowed me to avoid a second operation, resulted in minimal post-operative pain, and enabled faster recovery. Unlike my previous experiences, I did not have to endure months of daily wound dressing, which made a significant difference to both my physical and emotional well-being. I truly hope this marks the end of my long journey with perianal fistula, and I am deeply grateful to Dr. Ragu for that. Additionally, on the night before my operation, I experienced a severe anxiety attack. Despite it being late at night, Dr. Ragu personally came to the hospital to check on me and arranged for a cardiologist to review my condition to ensure my safety before proceeding. This level of care and prioritization of patient well-being meant a great deal to me. Hence, I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to my cardiologist, Dr. Mohd Firdaus Bin Hadi who responded promptly and checked on me immediately late at night to ensure there were no heart-related concerns and that I was safe to proceed. And provided the right medication for my anxiety. Special thanks as well to Consultant Anaesthetist, Col (R) Dato’ Dr Jaseemuddeen Abu Bakar, for seeing me prior to my operation. His calm explanation, reassurance, and encouragement truly helped ease my anxiety and gave me confidence going into surgery. Knowing I was in such capable hands made a big difference. -though later i was handed over to Dr.Esa. I would also like to sincerely thank Ms. Syuhada, Dr. Ragu’s assistant, who was exceptionally supportive throughout my journey, appointments & arrangements. she gave me a second reassurance that Im in a good hand of Dr and everything would be okay. She motivated me when I needed it most. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Ragu to anyone dealing with complex or recurrent perianal fistula cases, especially for patients who have undergone multiple surgeries without resolution. Based on my experience, his expertise, sound judgment, and compassion truly make a difference. And the ward and ambiance at Avisena is very comfortable and nice; which is very important to me in selecting a hospital too. (Except for the hot water for my sitz bath, i need to take from the flask) The nurses provided a very personal and good care while i was hospitalised making me comfortable.

Earlier in 2025, I brought my mother in when she was very ill, and we were truly blessed to be cared for by Dr. Ragu Ramasamy and Nurse Syuhada. Thanks to their dedication, professionalism, and compassion, my mother is now recovering well. Dr Lukman is the best doctor, professional and friendly. Already done Nissen Fundoplication surgery on April 2021. I'm feeling a thousand times better Alhamdulillah no more heartburn, cough and sore throat. I will always have to eat slowly and in smaller portions. I can't burp and vomit,but those things are nothing compared to what I deal with before surgery. Thanks to Dr Esa consultant anaesthesiologist and Avisena Hospital for your excellent treatment and also grateful for your friendly staff members.

Underwent tonsillectomy with Dr Roslenda and I'm grateful to be under her care. Very friendly, gentle and listens to all my concern. The procedure went well and Dr Esa (Anaest) did a great job as well. Few of my family members had gone anaest with Dr Esa and I highly recommend him. Both Dr Roslenda and Dr Esa are very professional, efficient and diligent in handling their patients. Level 4 (Mutiara) nurses are very nice and attentive. The only downside was that they couldn't find my veins and attempted few times. It was so painful that I requested a doctor to do it instead. Overall, I'm very happy and satisfied with the service.
