(previous review was hidden) COMPLAINT AGAINST DR. CHUNG YUN CHIEN - a Gastroenterology & Hepatology Specialist at Sunway Medical Centre. The consultation began with Dr. Chung displaying an alarming lack of professionalism. From the outset, he was impatient and dismissive, speaking rapidly and interrupting when I or my mother attempted to ask questions. When my mother sought to write down the names of recommended medical tests for better understanding, Dr. Chung responded in a shockingly rude manner, stating, "Why need to write this down? Write for what? It's useless! You also will not understand! Just do the test and you will know when you get the report." This dismissive attitude toward a patient's legitimate right to understand medical procedures is completely unacceptable for a healthcare professional. The situation escalated when we inquired about the necessity of prescribed medication, particularly regarding potential side effects. Rather than providing a professional explanation, Dr. Chung became confrontational and threatened to document in my medical records that I was "not keen for medication." He accompanied this threat with aggressive gestures, repeatedly pointing his finger at us while demanding that she remain silent. His hostile behavior created an intimidating environment that left my mother visibly distressed, ultimately reducing her to tears following the consultation. Most concerning was the discovery that what Dr. Chung had strongly insisted was necessary "medication" was, in fact, a supplement (informed by the nurse at the pharmacy counter). This misrepresentation of treatment constitutes a serious breach of patient trust and violates fundamental principles of medical ethics regarding informed consent. Complaint has been lodged to relevant authorities. Hope Sunway Medical Centre takes this matter seriously.

Dr. Chung Yun Chen, a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist, has very poor ethics. He is rude, lacks manners/attitude. The first person in line was made the last. When asked, we were told we were causing a disturbance, and security was called as if we were thieves. Extremely disappointing.
