I was rushed to emergency by my wife around 1 am on 1st August 2023 due to chest pain. The staff in charge was quick to act by providing wheel chair and taking me straight into the emergency bay for treatment even before my wife proceed with registration of patient. All the needful related tests was carried out to determine the possibility of my situation related to cardiac arrest. They gave me Dynastat to relief the pain. The ECG and blood test related to heart attack was done but it came out normal. The doctor in Emergency Dept who attended to me was, Dr. Ruvini De Silva. She was quite rude and unnecessarily loud in communicating the outcome of the results. She made it look like I came in with a false intention. Even though the tests have proved the contrary, I think it is the duty of the doctor to not conclude a diagnosis if it’s not your field of expertise. She said I can go back home and I may consult a cardiologist if I want. I decided to consult a cardiologist the same day as I know the pain I had was abnormal. I managed to get an appointment with Dr. Tan Kin Leong on the same day and upon consulting he suggested that I go for all the necessary screening. True enough he detected a severe luminal stenosis on 2nd August 2023. His professionalism and approach truly reflected the values and ethics of a medical practitioner. Heartfelt appreciation to you Dr. Tan. If I had just relied on the initial test result and Dr. Ruvini’s words, I shudder to think of the outcome. I have been to Columbia Asia Hospital Seremban for many years, and I have come across many good doctors like Dr. Tan. To name a few : Dr. Radhakrishnan, Dr. Andrew, Dr. Gilbert and many more. Generally I think it is very important for MOs working in emergency dept to be more compassionate and not conclusive if it’s not your area of expertise. Thank you.

Brought my dad for angio under Dr Tan Kin Leong here. He explained really well to my parents about dad's condition. Laid out the plan for his heart condition. Got admitted a day later and balloon angioplasty was done with no complications. Dr Tan proceeded to explain post procedure what was the angio finding and that a drug eluting balloon angio was done instead of putting in a stent due to dad's age. Really happy with the nursing care provided by the nurses as well. All in all a great experience.
