I came to see an ENT specialist. It's my 5th time (and definitely last) in this hospital, and it's my 2nd consultation with this doctor (I first saw him 2 weeks ago). My appointment was at 10 am. First, when I arrive at 9:45, I can't check in. It turns out that it's because my appointment has been cancelled. This is surprising since the hospital sent me an SMS at 9:29 reminding me of my appointment. I asked who or why it has been cancelled, and they don't know, but they re-activate my appointment for 10 am. All good. Then, the website says there are 6 patients ahead of me and a waiting time of 1h 25 minutes!!! I go to the counter and ask if this is accurate and how can there be 6 patients ahead of me if I have the 3rd slot of the day (9:00 / 9:30 / 10:00) and it's already past 10am. They tell me that this doctor is first come, first serve. I asked if that means that anyone who doesn't have an appointment but arrives before me will see the doctor before me, and the answer was "yes." So why do I bother making an appointment? What's the use of it? I was told that my appointment was with the registration counter, not with the doctor. Ridiculous! If it wasn't because I'm waiting for some lab results, I'd cancel the appointment right now and walk away, but here I am, waiting. Looking for a new hospital in KL...

I underwent surgery with Dr Elang (ENT) and was very impressed with his professionalism and care. He was very patient and kind from pre to post-operation, guiding and checking thoroughly all the way. The procedure and subsequent recovery was very manageable following doctor's instructions. Special thanks to Dr Elang's nurse, Huda, as well. She always has a smile and is generous with kind words, and has been very comforting throughout the process.
