Professor Imran is a highly respected Consultant Cardiologist and academic leader, with deep expertise in interventional cardiology, heart rhythm disorders (electrophysiology), and general cardiovascular disease. He completed both his MBBS and Master of Medicine (MMed) in Internal Medicine at the University of Malaya. Over many years, he has built a strong record in both clinical and research endeavours. On the clinical side, he serves as Head of the Cardiology Unit in the Department of Medicine at UMMC, and offers specialist services at UMSC, combining patient care with leadership in advancing cardiac interventions. On the research front, he has published dozens of journal articles, been principal investigator on major cardiovascular studies, and led projects that are nationally & internationally funded. He also plays an active role in medical education—guiding both undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.
