The doctors here are excellent, fast, and satisfactory. Dato Robert Ding and Dr. Badrul... I like them. However, the service for Admission (Cashless Insurance) is poor and very slow. I was asked for a deposit right upon admission, which is not how it's done in Singapore. Then, when I was about to be discharged, they asked for an additional deposit, which I refused. This is because the Insurance and Hospital should handle it. It turned out the form for the doctor was not filled out and completed, yet they blamed the Insurance. I was also passed around with questions, it was incredible... Please fix and pay attention to this immediately. It's a shame, the doctors are good, but the admission service is slow and seems to be deliberately prolonged. Thank you.

In Penang, Island Hospital is one of the most popular and crowded hospitals for Indonesians. When my mother arrived at Island Hospital, her condition was quite concerning, requiring an ambulance. However, the doctors who treated her (Dr. Badrul and Dr. Robert Ding) performed their duties exceptionally well and were truly dedicated. Therefore, although it was quite pricey, it was absolutely worth it.

My experience at Island Hospital in Penang has been largely disappointing, in particular the clinic follow up with Prof Dato R D post discharge. My dad was given an appointment to see him at PM clinic on a particular date, and clinic supposedly starts at 2pm. So we came in early at 1pm for blood test prior the appointment. We waited until 730pm, but the doctor was no where to be seen at the clinic. All the other patients were waiting patiently outside the clinic, including us. Whenever the clinic nurses were asked about when the doctor will be here, they have no clue when he will be back and all they could tell us was 'he has another few scopes to do'. This reflects how badly his time management is and how irresponsible he is towards his clinic patients. It is unfortunately that a private doctor is not as caring and thoughtful as what we expect a doctor should be. Imagine how unwell my dad was, still recovering from recent hospital discharge, he has waited for almost 7 hours, and the doctor is yet to be seen. Where is the empathy of the doctor? Yes we know that doctor has a busy schedule. But a doctor has to be considerate of their patients' circumstances, he/she needs to take into consideration that his/her time is as precious as the patients'. Yes we know that there may be sick patients that require your attention, and urgent scopes. But as a doctor, you need to be responsible for the other patients too; at least knowing that you will be occupied for the next 5 hours, patients should be informed about that and asked to return to clinic at a later time, and not letting them sit in the waiting area for the next 5-10 hours. This is unforgivable and inexcusable! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally, it was our turn, at 11pm. There goes the reputation of the well known Island Hospital. Despite how popular this hospital is, especially among those Indonesians who came all the way to Penang to seek for expert medical advise, this astonishingly disappointing medical service provided by Island Hospital is speechless. Of course, the payment for private medical service is not cheap. It costs us RM400 plus our precious time of one full day for a 5 minute medical consult. Where in the world is considered fair, and no one in the right mind who do that to another human being. With this first hand experience, I will NOT recommend this place to anyone, not even to those people that I dislike. A medical provider who allow patients to wait aimlessly for 10hours for a consult is despicable, unethical and irresponsible. I have no other words to describe my disappointment today. It is such a disgrace to the medical world. *giving one star for this review is considered generous*

The hospital service and the doctor were very bad and disappointing!!!!!!! I registered with Dr. Robert Ding through agent Elvi. The agent informed me that I had been registered and just needed to wait to be called. I arrived at the hospital at 2 PM but was only seen by the doctor at 6 PM (waited 4 hours). Upon arriving in the doctor's room, I was not examined at all. The doctor only asked about my complaints, then ordered an endoscopy and colonoscopy. I was told to fast from 7 PM and come to the hospital at 7 AM for the procedure. However, I only entered the procedure room at 4 PM, and that was because my gastric acid had flared up. The queue was not followed in order, as some who arrived later were immediately taken for endoscopy. The nurses were very rude and unfriendly. After the endoscopy, the doctor did not explain much, only saying I had small polyps. The doctor did not explain in detail, just said 'okay, okay'. The cost was also VERY EXPENSIVE. I regret seeking treatment at this hospital!!!!!

The worst hospital. Service is bad. We booked an appointment at 3pm and nurse told us to wait until 9pm and still we are in queue no 25. Dr robert ding. And the nurse under dr is so rude and shouted. Nurse told us our appointment is not valid. The management should really take an action on this rather than troubling the patients. Pls look into your service!
