First and the last! Bad experience at ER. My 2 months old baby was confirmed RSV and that was day 5. Baby's chest was showing retractions and need urgent admission. We expect the process to be quick. But we were left in isolation room for 5 hours without timely check up on baby. Until my baby cried out hard and face turned purple, I carried my baby all the way out from the room to counter asked for help. But the doctor who attended to me was arrogant, Dr Anand. He listened to my baby's lung and said it was clear, but spo2 drop to 87 which is critical for baby. He tried to rest assure us but in arrogant way, claiming that condition is normal. It made us feel that, were we as parents just over reacted? When I asked why no timely check up on baby and we were left helpless in the room. Baby's cough was getting more frequent and hard. She couldn't drink any and kept crying. Out of surprise the doctor replied us that he was busy with many patients. The fact was when I attended to counter, the doctor was with his phone. When I requested for urgent help, the doctor doesn't seem well alarmed and didn't work quick on emergency procedure. I couldn't imagine, we were left in room without hourly check up, what would happen if we as first time parents missed out any abnormal sign on baby who just aged 2 months plus. One of the medical staffs even told me they couldn't do phlegm suction for baby at ER. Within 5 hours, there's no any quick medical assistance from paediatric unit. Until I alerted the staff that baby's condition get worsen, ER medical team only alert paediatric unit for help. Sorry that I insisted to transfer out to other hospital but I think I had made a wise choice. It seems that the handling way of ER needs improvement.
