Doctor prescribed wrong antibiotics for 2 months and Inappropriate Referral experience with an irresponsible doctor at this hospital. I arrived at the emergency department with a referral letter from my clinic doctor, which included details about the antibiotics I had taken so far for a recurrent UTI. Although I informed the attending doctor that I did not have a fever, I was transferred to a kidney specialist. After discharge, At the follow-up, the urine test results still showed the presence of bacteria, despite completing the prescribed antibiotics(Nitrofuratioin). I expressed my concerns to Dr. Ng Eng Khxx and asked several questions about the cause and potential solutions, but I felt that he was impatient to answer . I began to question why a kidney specialist was assigned to a UTI case, and I wondered if this was outside Dr. Ng Eng Khim’s area of expertise. He was very rude when I asked questions, he told” 总之就是一直要回来复诊,直到你好了为止,如果中文听不懂,不知道要用什么语言跟你沟通了. Furthermore, I was prescribed another course of antibiotics on 2nd follow up, which I later realized was the same medication (Monorol ) initially prescribed by my clinic doctor that had proven ineffective and my body might have developed resistance to the same antibiotic .I think doctor might didn’t read the letter from clinic doctor. When I inquired about the next steps if the infection could not be fully resolved, I was told that I might need to be referred to Urology Specialist and do a cystoscopy.😅 I understand that sometimes doctors can't always determine the exact cause or what has happened, but at the very least, there should be an effort to help the patient find out the underlying cause. I kept telling the doctor about my habits and lifestyle, but I felt like he was not interested to know.. So I have decided not to attend the follow-up check-up with the same doctor, as I feel that continuing with the same antibiotics really can't help me and doctor is not helpful at all I felt helpless I went back to the clinic that I trusted, the doctor pointed out that doctor from Sunway Medical Centre did not perform a through urine test to identify the specific bacteria responsible for my infection. Clinic doctor helped me to do a through urine test and found out there is another type of bacterial then she only gave me the right antibiotics to take. That is mean Thanks to the doctor , I have been taking ineffective antibiotics for several months, leading to unnecessary time and effort spent on follow-up visits and side effects of the wrong antibiotics.and luckily I didn’t do the check up that the doctor asked me to do, it will waste my time and money. This oversight is a serious error but after I complained, I just received a very perfunctory official letter that left many questions unanswered. They even didn’t reply my 2nd email as they still can’t answer my questions .Because I am the one who suffered but not their daughter, wife and themselves that is why they don’t care … Please put patients’ health and body as first priority and not just focused on making money. I think I might consider to take legal action and complaint to KKM. I would recommend Subang Jaya medical centre because many ppl go to SMC, I think this is one of the reason they can’t maintain the quality.
