Assalamualaikum, hello. I am Syazwannie, under Dr. Karen. This is my second time delivering under Dr. Karen. I like Dr. Karen because she is very supportive, helpful, and gave me motivation throughout my check-ups until delivery. For my first experience in 2021 and my second experience in 2025. For 2025, I delivered normally with an epidural. This experience greatly helped me in the birthing process. The use of epidural helped reduce the pressure I felt during contractions and pushing the baby. I am also grateful to Dr. Khor (Anesthesiologist) who administered the epidural, as its effects did not cause me pain after its use. While in the Labour Room, I felt very comfortable during the birthing process because my husband could be by my side. Nurse Hazwani (Midwife) was very helpful in giving me the encouragement to push, as was Dr. Karen. Because of the help from the entire team, I did not experience any tearing and had a safe delivery. What excited me the most this time is that KPJ Taiping has become Baby-Friendly. During check-ups, Dr. Karen strongly emphasized the benefits of breastfeeding. On the day of my delivery, the nurses also shared knowledge with me. We had a 1-hour skin-to-skin session after delivery. My baby received colostrum milk right from the Labour Room. Regarding the baby, Dr. Puah was also very helpful when my baby experienced jaundice. She also provided me with knowledge on how to reduce the jaundice. Including Dr. Kuey, I was also very comfortable because I have used his services extensively for my previous children. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service at KPJ Taiping.

Been doing the final check up starting week 35 with Dr karen until the baby delivered. The weekly checkup was very good and detailed. Baby doing all good and active however at week 38, during the weekly checkup, the umbilical cord has tangling the baby and we follow Dr advise to go for emergency czer. The operation was only for around 2 hours with help from other Dr and nurse, and it all went smooth. We are really thankful to the doctors and nurses, my baby is safe. Im really scared but Dr khor has been helping to soothe me throughout the operation since this is my first time in operation theatre. The food here are also delicious 🫶🏻 Because we are first time parents, a lot of things that the nurse has been helping us especially during the night time 😭. they also teach on the lactation and how to care for the post operation. Thank you Dr Karen & her team (Sheila, Shirley & Nurses in Ward 2) for their professional treatment, great care, patience & awesome experience during my clinic visit, in labor room & after. Thank you to Dr Khor for her expertise in giving epidural and ensure that I have good birth experience. Highly recommended to new parents to visit/get consultation from Dr Karen. She is amazing & I truly have great birth experience, thankful for her and the team ❤️
