Extremely Disappointed with the Handling of My Case – De Quervain’s Tendonitis Surgery I sought treatment for De Quervain’s tendonitis and underwent surgery under Dr. Aminudin. Unfortunately, what followed was not only a disappointing experience but one that reflects a serious lack of professionalism, accountability, and patient care from both the specialist and the hospital. I had to wait more than an hour past my appointment times during two follow-ups. There was no proper communication or apology—just a rushed consultation. Worse, during the surgery, I was conscious and asked the doctor if the procedure was done. He replied, “Another one,” which left me deeply concerned. I requested a comprehensive surgical report that included this remark and clarified what exactly was done during surgery. What I received instead was a basic, inaccurate report containing false information, including a claim that I had a prior steroid injection at another hospital, which I never stated. When I pointed this out, they replied saying the doctor “will not be issuing any additional reports” and that the phrase “another one” simply meant two tendons were released. If that was the case, why was this not mentioned in the report from the start? Why did it take repeated emails just to get an unsatisfactory explanation? And if they truly reviewed the consultation history, why is inaccurate information still in my report? Customer service was consistently unhelpful—quick to respond with scripted apologies but never truly addressing what was asked. The hospital knew the distance I’d have to travel and that I preferred email, yet insisted I return in person to “discuss” what could’ve easily been communicated in writing. I was also charged for services I didn’t agree to, like seeing another doctor just to remove surgical stitches. This entire experience has caused unnecessary distress, and the lack of empathy shown only made things worse. That said, I’ve seen others have pleasant experiences, unfortunately, in this case, I may have just had the bad luck of dealing with a specialist who does not value patients' time and a system that fails to take responsibility when things go wrong. It’s disappointing that a hospital with such a strong reputation allows these lapses in care and communication to persist.
