Dr. Kong Chee Kwan is a dual-qualified surgeon, having completed full training in both general surgery and plastic & reconstructive surgery. He earned his medical degree (MD) from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in 2002, followed by a Master of Surgery (MSurg) from the University of Malaya in 2010. He also holds the MPlastSurg qualification from Universiti Sains Malaysia, signifying formal specialization in plastic surgery. He is registered on Malaysia’s National Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery. His sub-specialty areas encompass reconstructive surgery involving oculoplastics (eyelids, tear ducts, orbit), lacrimal system surgery (tear ducts), orbital surgery, as well as the management of burns, skin tumours, and soft tissue neoplasms. Academically, Dr. Kong serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery at the University of Malaya. His research interests focus on outcomes in burns, skin tumours, and reconstructive techniques, and he actively contributes to the UMSC / UM surgery research programmes at the University of Malaya Medical Centre. Dr. Kong is proficient in both Malay and English, facilitating effective patient communication.
