I visited Island hospital and I was checked by Dato’ Dr. Lee Keat Hwa for a chronic pain in my hand palm and my thumb. My thumb was moving completely normal with no clear clinical indications on what could be the reason of my pain. The doctor advised to receive treatment for trigger thumb, which is a cortisone shot. She gave me the shot while I was still in the same chair and consultation room. The bill came with: 1. Consultation Fees RM+200 2. Treatment Room Fees RM80 3. Procedure Fees RM+300 4. Medication/Injections Fees RM+100 Why would I be billed for a treatment room if I was in the same consultation room and I already paid for the consultation!! Why giving a normal injection costs more than 300 aside from the cost of the medication itself? Why is it considered a procedure in first place!!
