I went to a few sessions with Dr francis low chee chan. I initially gave this psychiatrist the benefit of the doubt despite seeing negative reviews about him being too blunt or mean—figured people might’ve just been sensitive. But unfortunately, my experience confirmed the concerns. He started off seeming understanding, even separating me and my mum to speak to us individually, which I appreciated. But as the sessions went on, he began shifting—becoming more dismissive, inconsistent, and overly familiar in uncomfortable ways. He'd make assumptions about my mental state (like insisting I was lying about forgetting painful memories), compare me to his own children, and even casually trauma-bond with my mum over their similar harsh upbringings. It began to feel less like therapy and more like a weird group chat I didn’t ask to join. He also frequently validated my mum’s outdated beliefs under the guise of “generational difference” instead of challenging them helpfully. At one point, he even implied she was stronger than me, which just echoed the same invalidation I came to therapy to process. The worst part was how it felt like he stopped being objective and started siding with my mum—as if I was just an overreacting teen and she was the wise adult, even when I was opening up about serious emotional pain and family issues. TLDR: If you’re looking for a psychiatrist who actually listens and respects your emotional reality instead of gaslighting you with a smile, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

One of the best hospital I have visited. I truly feel like I was home. Thank you to the first person who greeted me : the cute Receptionist Catherine . And my Dr : Dr low who is nothing but the best person . He explained my condition so well and even taught me how to exercise. Among the many drs that made me do plenty of scanning and test , he made it so clear and normal. He made me feel like I'm stronger than before. This Dr is not just brilliant but genuine and honest to his profession. Last but not least, his nurse Jaya Letchumy, she assisted me the whole process and made me feel like I was HOME 😭😭 . I'm asking myself how did I not realise that there is such wonderful hospital in Malaysia ? Thank you Dr Law and team 😘
