      About Doctor

      Professor Dr. Sanjiv Mahadeva is a distinguished Consultant Gastroenterologist and Clinical Professor with extensive expertise in functional gastrointestinal disorders, colon cancer screening, therapeutic GI & Biliary endoscopy, and chronic liver disease management. He is a pioneer in advanced interventional endoscopy, notably the POEM technique for achalasia. With over 200 publications and an H-index of 52, he is recognized as one of the "top 2% scientists in the world" by Stanford University (2022-2024). Formerly Head of Medicine at the University of Malaya, his research spans GI epidemiology, NAFLD, and disorders of gut-brain interaction.

      We had a good experience visiting UMSC starting from registration counter, consulting with doctor and admission/discharge etc. We met with Professor Dr Sanjiv Mahadeva and he is very reasonable and nice guy. The staff working there is quite good, wards are neat and clean. I feel this hospital is much better compare to any other private hospital for any kind of medical treatment. The only downside I can see is that doctors are not available in OPD everyday- mostly twice or trice in a week only.
