To: Doctors, nurses, front liners of Sunway Medical Centre Velocity "THANK YOU for saving my mum!!!" Here I would like to share the experience of my mum as a Covid Cat 5 recovering patient at SMCV. My mum is 66 years old. She is fully vaccinated and has received 2nd dose of Sinovac vaccine on 30 June 2021. On 3 August 2021, my mum was tested Covid positive, category 5 ICU. She was admitted to Sunway Medical Centre Velocity on 3 August and finally able to discharge on 12 August 2021 after hospitalized for 10 days. I would like to express my gratitude and thank you to all doctors, nurses, frontliners in Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV) for their top-notch dedicated services, professionality and expertise, in performing their best to save lives. THANK YOU ALL for saving my mum!!! Personally, I would like to extend my utmost appreciation to Dr. Nurul Yaqeen Mohd Esa (Consultant Respiratory Specialist & Internal Medicine Physician) main doctor for all Covid patients as well as Dr. Melvin A/L Kandasamy specialize in Anaesthesiology whom both have been closely follow up and constantly consulting and update my mum's progress and advise the necessary. Doctors and nurses in SMCV are very attentive and keep updating my mum's condition to me daily. Doctor will also call/WhatsApp me if there's any updates on her condition/ progress. I also able to call to the ward and checked with the nurse asking about my mum's condition and they explained to me as well if there's any issues. This is the form of communication we can have with the given circumstances. We can only take care ourselves at home, and leave my mum in doctors' hands and their expertise while keep praying have faith and hoping the medication and support given will help improve my mum's condition. I really appreciate all the updates explanation given by the doctors as well as the nurses who have been well taking care my mum on her diet, asking her foods she would to have, changing diapers and wiping cleaning body for her when she needed or requested for assistance. All the doctors and nurses from Covid ward to ICU ward have been very friendly and keep motivating my mum to stay strong and constantly giving her moral support, strength while we families can't be there physically. Not forgetting a shoutout to Accident & Emergency dept of SMCV for well execution and taking prompt actions despite the late-night emergency check in despite how exhausting it can get. Million thanks for the great care and support given to my mum during her hospital stay. My mum keeps complimenting SMCV have such a great hospitality with group of experienced and genuinely care for you doctors, front liners that giving their best care to the patients when she shared her experience in hospital to me. I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care and skill Dr. Gerard Arvind Martin (Neurosurgeon) demonstrated during my recent brain surgery. Dr Gerard, your expertise not only saved my life from a hemorrhage stroke, but also preserved most (if not all) of my functions. Your work is nothing short of extraordinary. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been under your care. I am also appreciative to the rest of doctors (Dr Mafeitzeral Mamat, Dr Melvin Kandasamy, Dr Kok Chin Yong, Dr Tee Chee Hian) as well as all the caring nurses at ICU/HDU Ward, nutritionist and rehabilitation therapists who were part of the SMCV medical team that look after my well being. Thank you all. You’ve been really awesome. Keep up the great work !
