Went to Island Hospital Penang for my father's examination. I live in Indonesia, we already had met urologist in Bali and he suggested my dad to do some robotic prostate biopsy, but it was not available in Bali. Not long after that, we went straight away to this hospital, after we met dr Rakesh at Mount Miriam Hospital. He reffered my dad to one of Nephrologist in Island Hospital Penang, dr Vijaya. At the same day dr Rakesh reffered us, we met dr Vijaya in Peel Wing, and told us not to consult with him. He suggest us to meet Urologist instead of him, and we don't have to pay him for the consultation. dr Vijaya was so humble, polite and kind. No doubt he had so many patients waiting outside his room. We go back to Old Island to meet de Devindran Manoharan. He is an Uro-oncologist. We spoke to him briefly about our dad's condition (which is he already knew because dr Rakesh already told dr Vijaya by phone about my dad's history. And then dr Vijaya passed it directly to dr Devindran). The important thing is, in here we don't need to wait so long to meet the doctor. This hospital has a very good coordination between the administration staff and the nurse in the clinic. When we met dr Devindran, my first impression was he is so kind, gentle and very good to make my dad calm. He suggest us to do several examinations like MRI, robotic biopsy and PET scan. And he kept telling my dad that he don't need to worry about his condition. dr Devindran was very helpful, he also explain to us the detail about everything. He showed us the MRI result, then he explain the way he will do the robotic biopsy. He even draw the anatomy to help us understand more about my father's problem. When the biopsy day came, it took so long for my dad to enter the operating room, probably it was because of my dad's surgery was so sudden and the operating room have not ready yet. BUT, politely, dr Devindran came to our room and said sorry that the surgery will be postponed a few hours because of the operating room was still full of schedule. We waited in our room for almost 10 hours, and my dad was fasting almost 12 hours that day. The one thing I can never accept in here is one of the nurse in floor 7 was so rude. After my dad done the surgery, I asked her to prepare for the meal (it's already 18.30), instead of answering me, she shouted me to get out first to change my dad underpad (which is not so decent). After that I asked the other nurse to help prepare for the dinner, she answered more politely than the other😊 Overall, I would say this hospital was 9/10! for dr Devindran, his nurse, the front office in lobby, their cafetaria, cleanliness, procedure, price wise, were all excellent. It will be 10/10 if only the nurse in the room was more friendly and warm. Would like to suggest the management team to improve the service, especially to the nurses, because I've read most of the reviewers problem much likely the same with what I've been through😊
