Prof. Dr. Nirmala is a distinguished Gynae-Oncologist and Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at UKM Specialist Centre, renowned for her leadership in Gynae-oncology and Minimally Invasive Surgeries. She is internationally acclaimed for her research in ovarian cancer biomarkers and translational research, including developing a biosensor kit for early detection. Her innovative practice includes an ultrasound clinic utilizing the IOTA-Adnex model and laparoscopic sentinel node services. Prof. Dr. Nirmala is also dedicated to community outreach, cancer awareness programs, and teaching, holding a fellowship with the RCOG committee in Malaysia and having published extensively.
