I’ve been admitted to SMVC three times. I would say the doctors, especially Dr. David who performed my son’s tonsillectomy, are quite good. However, the hospital facilities—particularly the lift situation—are a real concern. The waiting time for the lifts is extremely long. When I was admitted in 2023 for minor surgery, I was surprised to see that both patients and visitors share the same lift. It made me feel very uncomfortable, especially after surgery when you may not be in the best condition. Unfortunately, the same issue occurred again in 2024 when my son was admitted. There are only two guest lifts in the whole hospital, and they take forever to arrive. While I appreciate the care provided by Dr. David, I was disappointed with the pediatrician who suggested my son might be pretending to cough. The reason for the admission was to investigate a persistent cough that had lasted almost a month. I found that remark quite unprofessional.
