Associate Professor Dato' Dr Rishya Manikam is a distinguished Head and Senior Consultant Trauma & Emergency Physician with over two decades of experience at UMMC. He is a national leader in Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) response, having trained over 60% of Malaysia's emergency physicians. His extensive research contributions, with 88 publications and over 1,900 citations, focus on critical areas like respiratory compromise and sonographic diagnosis. Dr. Manikam also champions community preparedness through first aid education and holds significant leadership roles in martial arts medicine, including Vice President of the World Para Taekwondo Federation.
