Professor Koh Mia Tuang is a highly respected paediatrician with deep specialization in paediatric infectious diseases, based at UM Specialist Centre as well as Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. He holds an MBBS from the University of Malaya and has achieved multiple fellowships from prestigious UK institutions: MRCP (UK), FRCP (Edinburgh), and FRCPCH (UK). He is registered under Malaysia’s National Specialist Register (NSR) for both General Paediatrics and Paediatric Infectious Diseases, which confirms his recognized expertise in those fields. Professor Koh has extensive experience managing complex infectious disease challenges in children, including HIV, tuberculosis, vaccine-preventable infections, and primary immunodeficiencies. He contributes significantly to research, vaccine trials, and clinical guidelines. Because of his years of senior practice, leadership, and international qualifications, he is seen as a leader in his specialty for both patient care and medical education. He also speaks both Malay and English fluently, which helps in patient communication and sharing expertise across local and international forums.
