I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for Columbia Asia’s unwavering dedication and compassionate care. I’ve never been to a hospital that gives better care and staffs are as kind. Special thanks to the Dr Habiba, Dr Vijayan, Dr Foo, Dr Mohan, nurses and Mr Poo Balan who constantly came to check on my dad and make his days at the hospital better.

I am very pleased to seek medical consultation and treatment here for the 3rd time. The Medical Officers namely Dr. Kuan and Dr. Vijayan, including PCA MD5 Vikneswary and other nurses have given highest quality medical care. The stay was pleasant experience.

WARD MD1 (Ward stayed: 59A, 59B, 59C, 59D) 30 October-3 November I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the quality of service my family and I received during our recent hospital stay. Four of us were admitted since Thursday midnight, and we only received a room much later. Unfortunately, several service issues have caused significant inconvenience and distress to us during our stay. 1. Lack of basic amenities Upon checking into the ward room, there was no drinking or warm water provided. When I pressed the call bell to request warm water (as my son was crying for milk), it took quite some time before the nurse delivered it. 2. Food service delays The meals were consistently delayed beyond the scheduled times. For example, breakfast scheduled at 7:30 a.m. only arrived at 8:30 a.m., which disrupted our medicine schedule. Some medications must be taken before meals, and although the nurse gave the medicine on time, the food delay caused further difficulty. 3. Unprofessional response from staff When I raised this issue to one of the nurses, her response was dismissive and unprofessional. She said, “We don’t handle food; that’s another department.” I found this attitude very unhelpful and inappropriate when handling patient concerns! 4. Delay in discharge process There was also a delay in submitting documents to the finance department for insurance approval. I was informed that the nurse wanted to submit all four of our files together, even though my sons’ results were finalized and ready much earlier (before 4:00 p.m.). This unnecessary delay caused my discharge to be pushed until 8:00 p.m. Ironically, my own insurance claim (submitted late) was approved before my children’s claims, preventing me from getting my deposit refunded promptly. When I questioned the nurses about this, they raised their voices at me instead of providing a reasonable explanation. 5. Premature room clearing Before we were officially discharged, the nurses began removing items such as the thermos and drinking water, even though I still needed them to prepare milk for my son. It is inappropriate and inconsiderate to start tidying the room while patients are still occupying it!! 6. Unprofessional comment from physiotherapist During a physiotherapy session, an Indian lady (name unknown) made a sarcastic remark after asking about my occupation, saying that my job might not exist or be relevant anymore. While I understand she may have been trying to be friendly, the comment was rude and uncalled for. While I would like to extend my gratitude to Dr. Vijaya and Dr. Lim, who were both excellent and professional, the poor attitude and service from the nursing and physiotherapy staff overshadowed an otherwise good medical experience. I hope the management will take this feedback seriously and conduct proper training for your staff on interpersonal communication, empathy, and professionalism. No patient should have to go through such an unpleasant experience during recovery.

Stayed here for 4 days to treat daughter's chest infection 1. Doctor only arrived to see patient at 10.30 p.m. upon the request of parents after patient was admitted to ward at 7.30 p.m. Admin need to explain to parents that the hospital only has a visiting doctor as respiratory specialist before admitting to ward, then we wouldn't have wasted 5 hours for admission and another 3 hours for the doctor to check upon request when patient was clearly having difficulty breathing. 2. Doctor should not ask parents to settle admin processors involving approval of medical card of panel hospital for procedures deemed necessary for patient's health. That should be sorted out by the hospital admin and insurance company. 3. Inability to explain clearly on patient's health when asked detailed questions. Explanation by showing scan results to parents who are not from medical background is not the way. Explaining in simple terms the issue patient is suffering from would have sufficed. Don't have to ridicule parents by stating that patient is not suffering from cancer when asked if patient is able to carry out physical activities immediately after being treated for mild pneumonia. 4. Some nurses are extremely caring and some are just the opposite Overall, for a private hospital that charges a lot, the service is definitely way below par. I will not come here again nor recommend it to anyone.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care I received during my stay at Columbia Bukit Rimau. The emergency staff, especially in the ICU, went above and beyond throughout my six-day stay. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to staff Nurse Ms. Nurul Fitri Syuhada from (ICU Dept) whose compassion and dedication truly touched me. Her gentle care and comforting words made me feel like I was being looked after by family. She played an extraordinary role in my recovery, and for that, I will always be grateful. 🥰 And after being transferred to the general ward, the care remained excellent. I want to give special thanks to Staff Nurse Ms. Vickneswary (MD5), who went above and beyond with her pleasant, caring, and friendly approach. My deepest appreciation goes to the doctors as well. I was especially touched by the care from Dr. Vijay, Dr. Rushin, and Dr. Habibah. 🙏🏻 A special thanks to Dr. Vijayan—I vividly remember being unconscious in the Observation Room (Ops) struggling to breathe due to low oxygen levels. In that critical moment, I was desperately looking for him to save my life, and he did just that. His treatment gave me a second chance, and I will forever be grateful for his life-saving intervention. Thank you to the entire medical team for their incredible care and support. 🙏
