Prof. Dr. Kartini Binti Rahmat is a highly respected Consultant Clinical Radiologist with UM Specialist Centre and the University of Malaya, distinguished by academic excellence, international credentialing, and deep research achievements. She earned her MBBS (University of Malaya), and postgraduate training in radiology at UM, followed by the prestigious FRCR from the Royal College of Radiologists, London. She also had advanced radiology training in Western Australia. Her roster of qualifications includes MRad (UM) and other certifications, and she is registered under Malaysia's National Specialist Register. Clinically, she specialises in breast imaging, interventional radiology, and neuroimaging. Her work includes both diagnostic and procedural care—helping detect, characterise and manage breast disease, as well as contributing imaging expertise in neurological conditions. On the research front, Prof. Kartini has an impressive body of work: over 250 peer-reviewed journal publications, more than a million citations together, and numerous grants.
