Had to do an emergency heart surgery due to a sudden heart attack and came to the ER for treatment. Everyone from the doctor in the ER that night, to Dr Prem who performed my surgery to the nurses Mary, Fiona, Kristina and Athirah who took care of me in the ICU was super nice and proficient in their job. The sudden angioplasty surgery was conducted professionally and efficiently and the aftercare was great

I had an accident on the morning of 23/4/25 while on my way to the office. I was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) by ambulance and ended up stuck there for several hours. After enduring pain, undergoing X-rays, getting plaster casts on my leg, and seeing the overwhelming number of patients, I decided to transfer to Columbia Asia Hospital Petaling Jaya (HCPJ) for further treatment and surgery. I arrived at HCPJ around 10 p.m. The staff informed me that I would be undergoing surgery around 11:45 p.m. and began preparing me for the procedure. I was diagnosed with two serious conditions: an open wound and a fibula plateau fracture. I was assisted by the ambulance driver (Abang, whose name I unfortunately forgot) and two staff nurses. I was quite nervous, as this was my first major surgery. I still remember the positive attitude and motivation given by the ambulance driver and Nurse Atiqah Edham—it helped ease my worries and gave me confidence going into the surgery. In the operation room, anesthesiologist Dr. Basir Ahmad, surgeon Dr. Ong Kean Chao, and his partner Dr. Saifudin explained the procedure and its risks. The surgery was completed around 3 a.m., and I was then transferred to the ward to rest. I was admitted from 23/4/25 to 2/5/25—more than a week—and at times, the difficulty of walking was frustrating. The food was good, although sometimes a little too healthy for my taste! 😂 The nurses regularly checked my blood pressure and body temperature. There were also call buttons beside the bed and in the bathroom, which made it easy to ask for help. A heartfelt thank you to SN Atiqah Edham, SN Azleen, SN Alis, SN Hazriena, SN Asyikin, SN Fatin, SN Shahira, SN Careen, SN Natasha, SN Roqib, SN Assuida, SN Izati, PCA Yana, PCA Iffah, PCA Tharshini—and apologies if I missed anyone. You all made my stay easier and more positive during a very difficult time. You are true heroes. Thank you again for your care and hospitality. Best Regards, Johan
