My mom recently did her second cataract surgery under Dato Dr. Lai.. The procedure went well. He did a good job. The ambiance in & around the hospital is nice but registration upon arrival can take a while depending on the number of people or patients and coupled with this hospital being the venue for covid vaccine booster shots, there would be a lot of people in the lobby area standing, waiting or mingling around. Perhaps something could be done to address the situation to allow some distancing amongst those in the crowd. Also, I observed that upon entering the hospital thru the main entrance on the ground floor, there would be the usual covid SOPs and a coloured sticker would be pasted on the clothing of every visitor but if one enters the hospital early in the morning thru the car park entrance and elevators on the higher floors, there is nobody there, no staff to man those entrances so it would be up to the individual whether to scan My Sejahtera or not. Maybe those staff starts work at 9:00 AM but we are told to come early (7:30 AM) to the hospital during surgery days so it is just something that I observed & wish to bring it to your attention. Anyway, my mom had a pleasant experience as all the nurses & staff were very friendly, polite & helpful. There was also a time when her surgery ended & she was wheeled back to her room and it was about lunch time but I wasn’t in the hospital then as I had to go off to attend to other matters, one of the staff by the name of Doreen.. Lim(?), I’m not sure from which department, had kept my mom company & also had gone down to get lunch for her from Harvey’s. I was only able to get back to the hospital later that afternoon & to my surprise, this Miss Doreen was still there in the room accompanying my mom.. Talk about dedication to the job, this woman is a prized asset to your establishment.. She deserves a raise! I firmly believe that if companies treat their employees well, they in return would be happy & be more productive which ultimately bodes well for the companies - a win-win situation. I would recommend this hospital as being one of the premier hospitals on the island.
