I recently underwent spine surgery at Sunway Hospital, date: 23/5/2025 and while the medical procedure itself went well, my discharge experience on 24/5/2025 left me extremely shocked + disappointed. While waiting to be discharged, a nurse came to inform me that I could proceed to the counter for billing—but no clear directions were given. When I stepped out of my room and saw a doctor nearby, I politely asked, “Excuse me, may I know where the check-out counter is?” He impatiently interrupted me mid-sentence, vaguely pointed to the right, and walked away without any further clarification. I followed the direction he pointed toward, only to meet another nurse who then informed me the correct counter was actually in the opposite direction. I eventually found the billing counter and, to my surprise, saw the same doctor again. My family confronted him about the misinformation. His response was shocking—he raised his lanyard with his name and photo, and said, “Yes, I don’t know where it is, I’m a new staff. If you’re unhappy with me, go ahead and complain.” This response was witnessed by the nurse at the billing counter. It was unprofessional, dismissive, and entirely unbecoming of someone carrying the title of “doctor.” As a patient who had just undergone a RM60,000+ surgery, still not able to walk properly the next day, he pointed a wrong direction causing a weak person walking from North to South, I expected a certain level of empathy and professionalism—especially from a medical professional representing a hospital as reputable as Sunway. While I am grateful for the care I received from the nurses and staff on Level 8—who were consistently kind, helpful, and compassionate—this one encounter left a lasting negative impression. It truly felt like we were speaking to a character from a gangster film, not a healthcare provider. Sunway Management, I urge you to look into this matter seriously. I doubt I’m the only one who has encountered this kind of behavior—perhaps others just haven’t spoken up. I’m thankful this individual was not the one performing my procedure. Please speak with him and ensure this does not happen to other patients in the future. His name is: Dr N . Wuey Min Specialty: Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Arthroscopy & Sport Surgery In regard to the Defamation Law (Civil or Criminal): I understand the importance of respecting legal boundaries. Therefore, I will not be posting the doctor’s picture—even if it’s publicly available on Sunway’s official website. While the image may be accessible to the public, I acknowledge that using it in a negative context could potentially be interpreted as defamatory or a privacy violation. I have no intention of breaching the PDPA or any secrecy laws. My focus is solely on highlighting an unprofessional incident that affected my experience, without targeting anyone personally beyond the scope of the truth. You may check CCTV nearby too for further investigation.

Brought my child to the orthopaedic department to see Dr. Ng Wuey Min for his shoulder problem. The service at this hospital is good, and the doctors and nurses are quite nice.
