I had made an appointment with Dr. Gopalan Nair. Initially, I met a customer service representative right near the gate. I explained that I had been to the hospital before, but my passport number had changed. He asked me to come downstairs. I was confused, he said, "Low floor." I said I didn't understand, and it would be better for the officer to register me himself. So I just waited. The information board had unfamiliar language for Indonesians. I asked the officer, and they immediately directed me, though their expressions weren't typical Indonesian manners. Online appointments don't guarantee you'll be called first. You still need to register first. Dr. Gopalan was quite nice. His language was clear and easy to understand. He was open about options, not necessarily requiring immediate action. However, what I felt was lacking was that he didn't ask for detailed questions. He just briefly examined my nose. He didn't recommend some medications prescribed by Indonesian doctors.

I was referred to Nephrologist & Physician Dr Tham Zhang Duan who was on call. I had to be admitted and during the 5 days, Dr Tham and ENT Surgeon Dr Gopalan Nair attended to me with professionalism and thoroughness. They showed utmost care and concern on a soft skill approach. To dear Dr Tham, “My heartfelt thanks to you for your utmost attention, your thoroughness, commendable follow-ups, commitment and time to ensure my wellness and that my lungs are cleared from the ‘villains’”. To dear Dr Gopalan, “Thank you much for explaining, for quick reminders on medication sequence and for injecting some humours”. Such dedicated doctors! From the ward nurses who worked and attended to me day and night too, to the F&B ladies and outsourced cleaners, “Thank you.” Each one of you is appreciated. I was admitted to LWEH for 5 days. The admission took a long time due to the insurance approval side and bed availability. The hospital is clean although furnishing and fittings are dated. Every doctor, nurse, service liners is polite. Of course there’s always room for improvement in the hospital system, SOPs and probably interpersonal skills.
