I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the kind and friendly staff I encounter during my treatment in LWEH especially Dr Fang Li Chen for her professionalism and the amazing nurses in Level 3A for making my stay in ward with great recovery journey until Im discharged today!
I went to A&E on 18/9/2024 in the morning with headache, fever, breathlessness, bad cough, thick greenish phlegm and loss of voice. From the admission, the clerk administrator was very patient when she try to listen to my wind voice 🤣, she can't hear what I'm saying, instead she request me to write what I want to ask 😬. Than she proceed on my registration to see the Medical Officer in A&E.
The waiting period for my turn to see medical officer is bearable. I only waited for bout half an hour till my turn. However the admission waiting time is a little bit longer which is about an hour because they need to arrange the time from the ward and insurance application with approval before proceed to sent me up to the ward
The Medical Officer assessed me and diagnosed my upper respiratory tract infection is very bad and has caused my asthma flares up which need to be admitted for further treatment. They sent me for blood test and chest X-ray for further diagnostics.
So, I get the emergency treatment for nebulizer to improve my breathing and control my conditions from the A&E team before admitted to the ward.
I was referred to Dr Fang Li Chen to treat my conditions, she diagnosed me with Acute laryngitis and has explained very thoroughly on my conditions and her treatment to me, she reassure I will get better soon as long I cooperate with her medical management.
Throughout my stay in level 3A, the nurses and nurse assistant has care for me very well. They're very good in handling their work, from inject me for antibiotics (they talk to me so i was distracted from the discomfort) , gently insert me on IV drips, giving me timely nebulizer and medication (they explain well on the medication). I am so grateful they also help me to fill my water bottle to encourage me to drink more to loosen my thick phlegms.
I like the nutritionist will come and ask me everyday what do I want to eat throughout my stay here. The provided food is very delicious and I love the food taste home cook. What a good healing experience when I'm away from home.
I stayed in 2 beded room. The ward is nice, super comfortable, and the room is spacious. Next to my bed is equipped with automatic locker drawer to keep my things safe, cabinet with mirror to make me look good eventhough I look sick 🤭. There is only one bathroom in two bedded room which is divide into two division for bathing and toileting.
The housekeeping here is good. I see the cleaner come to my room sweep regularly and wash the toilet. They even change the matress bedsheet daily.
The customer service team may come to the room for follow up on our sastifaction on the hospital service in certain days which also make the stay in ward so heart warming.
During the discharged procedure, the nurse help me to remove the canulla, band tag, and pass all the discharge documentation (x-ray results, blood test result, sick leave) with dr's appointment for upcoming follow up after I took the medicine that I need to bring home from the pharmacist which they explain clearly on the medication when I should consume. Anyway, I'm happy that I get to go home with 70% of recovery where my lungs airway are clear, no fever, less phlegm, less headache, less cough and my voice is clearer than the past few days 😁
Conclusionly, I am very sastified with the services provided by the LWEH healthcare teams. Indeed they are very professional from the administrations, radiologist, portals, lab technicians, dr's, nurses from A&E and level 3A. Keep it up the good work everyone.
