I went to see the Urology specialist this morning, and the service experience—from the nurses to the attending doctor, Dr. George Lee—was amazing. My only bad experience was with the receptionist downstairs at Counter 2 (the Indian lady)who handles insurance claims. I went down to request a Guarantee Letter (GL). Her first question was, "Did you request for a GL?" I answered, "No, I did not request one (because her question implied that I did request whereby I have not yet requested)." Her next question, with an unhappy face, was, "So who requested it, and why are you here?" I responded, "I am here to request one after being advised by the nurse upstairs, as I would like to claim it under my company." She snapped back, "That’s exactly what I was asking just now!" Her actual question was, "Did you request..." If she had asked, "Have you already requested the GL?" my answer would have been, "No, I am here to request it now." I kept this to myself because I didn't want to make a scene. She told me it would take an hour for the GL to be ready and said she would call me. I went back up to Dr. Lee's clinic and told the nurses it would take an hour, but the nurse mentioned that approvals are usually fast. Anyway, I waited until I got the call to collect the GL. When I went down again, the same receptionist told me my GL application was not approved because my referral letter was more than 30 days old. I had no issue with that at the time, so I went to see the doctor and paid out of pocket. However, after I got home, I checked my email and saw that the GL was actually approved at 9:12 AM—just 15 minutes after I requested it—and was sent directly to Gleneagles' email (which I believe goes to that receptionist). My question now is: why did she say it was rejected? Was it because she was unhappy with me, or was I just unlucky? She has a terrible attitude for someone working at the front desk. She definitely needs to learn some manners!

I am very grateful to Dr. Woo and the interpreter, Ms. Sugawara, for their exceptional care from my pregnancy through to delivery. After speaking with those around me, I found that many had given birth at Gleneagles Hospital, which gave me the confidence to choose it as well. I received careful support from my prenatal check-ups through to the delivery itself. Although it was my first time giving birth, I was able to go through the process safely without any major anxiety. I would like to thank Dr. Woo, Ms. Sugawara, and all the staff members. Thank you very much.

I find my stay comfortable. My stay here was for 2 nights for MRI, X-Ray and colorectal surgery by Dr.Lim. Procedures carried out professionally and on schedule. The whole hospital is very structured and good cordination and cooperation between various dept and areas. My flow from pre-adm to adm to sending us to our room. Room was neat and ready and clean. Staffs attended to us promptly and in pleasant mood. Even our request to change menu and bed positions etc. Whatever minor requests were promptly attended to without hesitations. Thats what a hospital should encourage so that patients who are already suffering some kind of pain or discomfort are assisted in really meaningful ways without hesitation or inhibitions. Cheers to Gleneagle Hospital and keep it up.
