Choosing Lam Wah Ee for my delivery was a last-minute decision. However, it ended up being the best decision we made. Having gone through a nerve-wracking precious pregnancy, it felt like God rewarded us by curating the most remarkable experience with an amazing, amazing team at Lam Wah Ee. From the admission, hospitalization, surgery, nursery, breastfeeding and discharge, we were given a top-notch service by the staffs, lactation nurses and especially the dedicated ward nurses although they were short-staffed. We are grateful for their dedication. We are also delighted to share our thoughts on the outstanding trio (Dr Yegappan, Dr Tan Eng Guan and Dr Swaran Singh) which we truly believe are the greatest assets to Lam Wah Yee. 1. Dr Yegappan We met Dr Yega only three days prior to the surgery. From the very first instance, he displayed a great level of professionalism. His calm composure and patience are what every nervous pregnant mother needs and expects from a doctor. He took his time to understand our history and answered all our questions. Dr Yega is one of those rare jewels who genuinely cares for his patients. He kept on assuring and constantly checked on me to ensure I was okay prior, during and even after surgery. He is also meticulous when it comes to patient care and asked every single detail relevant to it. We recently went to say hi to Dr Yega. In that very few minutes, he checked on how was I doing, feeding, sleeping, pain, cycle, flow, bonding between baby and etc, reflecting on his genuineness. We are forever grateful to Dr Yega for safely bringing our precious baby to this world and helping me with my post-partum recovery. 2. Dr Tan Eng Guan Dr Tan is one of the reason why we parents can sleep peacefully at night knowing that our children are in great hands. He is very approachable, addresses our concerns and very friendly. His dedication, care and concern towards our children is very admirable. I vividly remember him cheering as my baby was delivered and said, “I have all the footage I need so I am going to put a show to the family”. And he did just that. He made my family delighted when he updated, joked around and created a very happy moment for all of them to remember. What I appreciate Dr Tan the most is how efficient he was in investigating and helping my baby’s infection while keeping me calm throughout. His kind words like “Don’t worry, we are praying for your baby” were extremely comforting. Adding to that is the 30 minutes baby care talk he gave to all new mothers which was and still is very beneficial. We are lucky and grateful to have a very kind doctor like Dr Tan. 3. Dr Swaran Singh Saving the best for last. Very often anesthesiologist goes uncredited as patients do not have the opportunity to bond with them. God couldn’t be around during my surgery and so he sent his angel in the form of Dr Swaran to be with me. It truly felt like having a loving father with me throughout my surgery. I still get very emotional thinking of our moments in the OT. When I requested Dr Swaran to pray for me during pre-op, he happily recited both the Hindu and Christian prayers which truly impressed me. I was in awe with his language proficiency and wide knowledge. Throughout the surgery, he was constantly calming, reassuring and diverting my mind when I got anxious. The highlight of my surgery was when my baby was delivered. The entire OT was cheering and hyping me with Dr Swaran being the loudest and most cheerful of them all (BEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE). He also wiped my never-ending happy tears after that and thanked God for my safe delivery. He visited me again during post-op and genuinely expressed his happiness for me and our family. Till this day, I still think of Dr Swaran at least once a day. Truly blessed to have him as my doctor. Overall, we would like to express our gratitude to the amazing Godsent team at Lam Wah Yee.
