On the 22nd of May, I was recommended by a friend to consult with a Dr Gan Boon Chye about my blocked ENT at IH. About 4 something in the afternoon my friend drove me to IH, Macalister Wing for my consultation with Dr Gan. Due to my recent hip replacement surgery, I was provided with wheelchair service all the way to level 3 ENT dept by a young energetic attendant. Waited a while and was wheeled into Dr Gan's clinic. Told Dr Gan my blocked ENT and muffled hearing in my ear. Dr Gan did the necessary procedure and assured me that my ENT was good except for phlegm in my throat and nose. He then proceeded to remove the same from my nose. I felt so much relief and was grateful to Dr Gan. He then proceeded to prescribe medication for my discomfort. I would highly recommend Dr Gan and his service to my relatives and friends for any ENT problem at IH. Oops! I left out someone who is so friendly and put me at ease during the registration and instructing the attendant to wheel me to Dr Gan's clinic. Seeing me so anxious she stayed with me at the clinic even though it was after her work. She is your receptionist, Ms Nike QUIK. I highly recommend her for any promotion due to her. Tqsvm Nike. I visited this hospital at Dec 30th, 2025, and took my father to control his vocal cord. I met Dr. Gan Boon Chye as ENT specialist. He was so nice and very friendly, detailed explanation. The hospitality of the nurses at 8's ward were so incredible too. Next time, I will come again to this hospital. Thank you for the best hospitality and service, Island Hospital Penang.

Dr. Gan Boon Chye is very professional and attentive. He explains clearly and genuinely cares for his patients. Truly appreciate his dedication and kindness. Highly recommended! Nurse Deborah Cheah (Clinic Dr. Vanessa) is also very kind and helpful. She’s always patient and caring, making every visit comfortable.

I had few unusual nose bleeding in past few days. Went to consult ENT specialist Dr.Gan Boon Chye and found out it is just a ruptured blood vessel. The entire visit including consultation, nasal scope, nasal cautery took about 30minits. It was fast and efficient.
