I am 54 years old this year and I have not done any body check up. 1 of the reason keep me delaying from the health check up was due to the fear of unknown process and vary factors while living in foreign land. As upon this summer break, I was visiting my parents in Malaysia during my children school holidays, I decided to do my 1st time colonoscopy. As before hand I did some research online and found Dr Paul. After reading some reviews and watching some of his video clips from Instagram and FB, I decided to call up for a consultation appointment. I was surprised I could manage to make an appointment on Saturday which was not his working day at Gleneagles Hospital. During the 1st consultation on 28/6/2925 appointment, Dr Paul approachable attitude and clear explanation in words on the spot + bring home preparation instruction and solutions powder to consume before colonoscopy has guided me in ease how to prepare for it. His sincere, open conversation, professional and respect patient decision attitude had helped me to proceed for endoscopy test at the same time with colonoscopy and later to gallbladder removal surgery which was not done by him. On 1/7/2025, I was required to check in at 10am and colonoscopy to be performed at 1:00pm. The day before, I started fasting after dinner without solid food and just drinking plenty of plain water. From 7am-9am, i started to consume a 2L mixture of solution every 15mins with the amount of 250ml/time to clear my bowel. At 10:00am, I checked in smoothly at 2nd floor registration counter specially for endoscopy and colonoscopy test. Check in process was pretty quick. Later, I was brought to Day care room which located on same floor. I was guided to a bed to get change, get blood test and rest. The room is spacious, few toilets, individuals bed with pull curtain to have privacy space, bedside lock cabinet and chair. Sufficient toilets gave me peace of mind what if i couldn’t hold my bowel movement. Plain water was provided. The process of endoscopy and colonoscopy went through smoothly and fast beyond my expectation. Dr Paul greeted me with cheerful spirit in the operation theatre room. I was given sedation for about 20mins. When i was awake, I was on the way being brought to the Day Care room to rest. The whole process was totally painless! It was just like you fallen to sleep and when you awake it was all done. On the same day, I could check out without any physical discomfort. For the charges and expenses wise was reasonable. Dr Paul had filled in my insurance claim form on the same day and this had ensured the reimbursement process easier later. I received my blood test result on same day too. As during my consultation time with Dr Paul, I had shared with him regarding my gallbladder stone issue. He listened to my concern and gave me some crucial informations to consider to undergo a surgery to remove it for better life. He provide me some reading when i requested and answer my whatsapp doubts and questions promptly despite his busyness even on weekends. Dr Paul connected me with my choice of surgeon which he recommended on the same day of my endoscopy. At the end, a quick decision being made and gallbladder removal surgery had performed on the next day successfully. I am thankful to Dr Paul for his professional knowledge, skill, patience, considerate heart, kindness, integrity, serving heart, diligent and passionate spirit to care and work together with his patients extra miles for the best treatment. The whole process from 1st consultation to endoscopy, colonoscopy plus gallbladder removal was just done within 5 days! Dr Paul’s profound advice helped resolved my long suffered concern. Dr Paul is the best gastroenterologist I have ever met. Dr Paul patiently answered all my questions, explained everything in simple words so I can understand very well. He even gave his personal number and very responsive, even in the middle of the night and public holiday. I had endoscopy and colonoscopy by Dr Paul. I just had an endoscopy and colonoscopy last week with Doctor Paul. the stomach emptying process is carried out in the morning, so at night we can still sleep and not suffer. The procedure is carried out comfortably and is completely painless. the doctor was very thorough and detailed when explaining. The most important thing is that after I go home, Doctor Paul continues to monitor the patient's condition via WhatsApp. For patients who come from Indonesia like me, you don't need to worry about not being able to speak English, because Doctor Paul is very fluent in Indonesian. First of all i would like to thank Dr Paul for obliging my request for an early appointment for the scope. Due to its urgency, he has to take time off his busy clinic schedule in the morning. His supporting staff were very friendly and efficient with the prep before the scope. As expected, everything went smoothly without a hitch and I came out of sedation smiling. Dr Paul was already by my bedside ready with the findings assuring me that the scope did not find anything of concern in his self confident personality to worry about. Follow up is only if necessary. . And we parted . Couldn’t have found a friendlier gastroenterologist professional.
