One month of radiation treatment + consultation with Dr. Tik Swan (oncologist). Felt the treatment was very good/professional. The doctor meticulously reviewed the data, was patient, allowed for discussion, and double-checked results despite being busy with many patients. The staff/nurses and radiation technicians performed their duties well and patiently. Unfortunately, these good aspects were slightly marred by an unfriendly admission/concierge staff member, who is the front face of the hospital serving patients. The incident was as follows: - February 25th, 25, around 8:30 AM (if I recall correctly). My wife and I wanted to leave a box of dirty clothes (5 kg) to be washed at the laundry after the radiation process at the concierge desk. - A male staff member, with an unfriendly tone, stated that we could not leave a box, only a suitcase. Is there a hospital policy for this? After my wife explained that she was going for radiation and to see the doctor, and would be back in about 2 hours to pick it up. The staff member grumbled and unfriendlily said, 'Don't take too long' (while placing the box under his desk without a receipt tag, unlike for suitcases. To be safe, since there was no tag, I took a photo from a distance as proof when picking up the box). After 2 hours of radiation and other processes at the hospital, which went smoothly, my wife went to retrieve the box. The same staff member again, with a raised voice, asked why it took so long. My wife replied: 'Ask the doctor, nurse, or radiation department.' The staff member remained silent and handed over the laundry box (understandably, after a month in Penang, laundry needed to be done). Thank you to all the doctors we met, and all the nurses/staff, security, cleaning staff, and others who were kind and professional. We hope for improvement in the hospital's concierge department, which should be the initial face of the hospital, serving patients with good hospitality. Thank you, Suratno Hartanu & Wife
