Prof. Dato’ Dr. Hj Basheer Ahamed Bin Abdul Kareem is a distinguished Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon with over two decades of experience, renowned for his exceptional surgical precision in a wide spectrum of elective and emergency heart and lung procedures. He is a prominent leader, serving as President of the Malaysian Association for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons (MATCVS) and the Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons of Asia (ATCSA). Dr. Basheer also heads Cardiothoracic Surgery Services at the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), shaping national policies, and contributes significantly to medical education as an Adjunct Professor at Universiti Malaya and UTAR, and a guest examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons.
