Professor Dr Fong Choong Yi

Professor Dr. Fong Choong Yi is a top-tier Senior Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at UM Specialist Centre, offering world-class expertise in children's neurological disorders. His extensive international training in the United Kingdom and Australia sets him apart as a leader in his field. Professor Fong is a medical graduate of the prestigious University of Nottingham, UK, where he also began his specialist training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Neurology. He further honed his skills at globally renowned institutions, including Great Ormond Street Hospital and Evelina Children's Hospital in London. Deepening his specialisation, Professor Fong completed dual subspecialty fellowships in Paediatric Epilepsy and Paediatric Electroencephalography (EEG) at the Royal Children's Hospitals in both Brisbane and Melbourne, Australia. This elite training makes him an expert in diagnosing and managing complex epilepsy, including advanced assessments for epilepsy surgery. As the Head of the Paediatric Neurology division at University Malaya since 2014, Professor Fong has been instrumental in developing a comprehensive paediatric epilepsy service.
