I am truly grateful to Dr. Victor for using his laparoscopic surgical skills to perform a complex surgery for me!! I had a 13cm ovarian chocolate cyst, adhesions between my uterus and intestines, and scar tissue all around (caused by endometriosis), as well as fibroids in my uterus... 😭 To get a second opinion, I went to see Dr. K... at SJMC. After reviewing my case, she said the surgery was not simple and would require an open laparotomy to complete 😰😱! This would result in a slow recovery and a long period of bed rest 😥. Was recommended by a friend to visit Dr Victor Chin due to menses is continuing for 2 weeks. First impression: Damn this doctor is even younger than me, did I walk into the wrong consultation room? I first want to thank Dr. Victor Chin. He helped me get through a difficult time with ease and without worry. Thank you! During this process, I experienced the attitude of a truly competent specialist gynecologist. How so? I hope to share my inner feelings and experiences here. Along the way, I had seen 3 other specialist gynecologists, and none of the experiences were satisfactory. I didn't receive practical solutions; it was always medication, follow-ups, and then it would just fizzle out, leading to self-abandonment. Until last April, I had continuous menstrual bleeding for a full month. Initially, the flow was not heavy, and I thought it was just 'irregular periods' due to aging, or perhaps 'menopause,' so I didn't pay much attention. As time went on, I noticed the flow increasing significantly. One night, within 2 hours, my sanitary pad was completely saturated. Two days later, I felt weak and dizzy, so I immediately 'sought medical help.' However, I didn't go back to the doctors I had seen before. I went to a hospital, 'Columbia Asia Cheras' (mainly due to insurance). The registration staff arranged for me to see Dr. Victor Chin. When I first saw the doctor, I thought, 'He's so young,' and I started to have concerns... After the diagnosis, I truly understood what a specialist doctor should be like... At that time, I was facing it alone. I was very grateful that the doctor was willing to explain and analyze everything in my familiar language (Mandarin) with professionalism and judgment. After I calmed down and was able to understand, he then proposed solutions one by one. To my surprise, when proposing solutions, the doctor's primary concern was the patient, not anything else... His principle was to do his best not to let the patient suffer. Therefore, Dr. Chin suggested performing 'laparoscopic surgery' on me. The day before the surgery, Dr. Chin reassured me, 'It's okay,' to relax and trust him. The surgery lasted 4 hours that day, mainly to deal with a very large chocolate cyst, and of course, there were 'others' (a secret 🤭)... A miracle happened! I'm not exaggerating; my wound truly didn't hurt. After staying in the hospital for 4 days, I went home. Afterward, Dr. Chin was very responsible and kept in touch with me, inquiring about my recovery at home and if there were any other changes. After all, everyone's constitution is different. When I told Dr. Chin that I hadn't even taken painkillers because the wound really didn't hurt... Dr. Chin said I was very strong! No exaggeration! My friends and family who know me are aware of my condition. I truly admire his superb medical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and his noble character as a good doctor. I completely agree with all the positive comments about Dr. Victor. I had fibroids, with the largest measuring about 10 cm. Over the past two years, I tried various natural remedies, but none were successful. My gynecologists in Dubai and Singapore recommended surgery but insisted that, given the size of my fibroid, only open surgery was an option.
