I brought my 77 yo father to Dr. Yew Chor Giap (尤卓业医生) a General Surgeon at Lam Wah Ee Hospital, for treatment due to ongoing constipation and bloating that had persisted for weeks. After conducting a CT scan, Dr. Yew diagnosed a cyst in my father’s colon that required immediate surgery. Following a detailed discussion with Dr. Yew, we were able to better understand my father’s condition, particularly with regard to his lung health (he is a long-term smoker). Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, we decided not to proceed with treatment at Lam Wah Ee. However, Dr. Yew remained highly professional and supportive throughout. He ensured a smooth transfer of my father's case to another hospital, even personally contacting the attending physician at the other side to ensure continuity of care. Two weeks post-surgery, my father began experiencing some bloating and discomfort. Without hesitation, I took him back to Lam Wah Ee, hoping to consult Dr. Yew again. Unfortunately, it was not his clinic day, and we were unable to secure an appointment. In a fortunate turn of events, we encountered Dr. Yew’s nurse outside his clinic. After explaining my father's condition, the nurse immediately communicated with Dr. Yew, who kindly agreed to see my father without an appointment. Once again, Dr. Yew demonstrated exceptional professionalism. After reviewing my father's X-ray, he patiently explained the situation in detail and addressed all our concerns with great care. My family and I are deeply grateful for Dr. Yew's expertise and compassion during this challenging time. I would also like to commend the management at Lam Wah Ee Hospital for having Dr. Yew on their team, as I'm sure his care has not only made a significant impact on my father's recovery, but all other patients as well. I firmly believe that a doctor with such passion and strong medical ethics plays a pivotal role in a patient's healing process.
