Took my mum for her follow-up check-up with Dr Tay Hui Sian -Consultant Physician in Geriatric and General Medicine at Pantai Hospital, Ayer Keroh, Melaka. Really grateful to this doctor for what she has done to help my mum when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer + Vascular Dementia. We went to her when my siblings and I realised our mum started showing early symptoms of dementia for quite some time - lots of confusion, sudden moments when she would suddenly go blur and into panic mode (becoming more frequent), anxiety and mood changes. And as she was in the stage of denial about her problem and refused to see Dr Tay at all, for some time, I was "battling" with my mum and it was really a difficult time for the both of us. Well, in the end, my siblings and I half-tricked her into going to Dr Tay's clinic. My mum's first visit was not so good as she was unhappy, angry and still in denial. Fast forward to today (one year now), with the right medication, treatment and motivation by Dr Tay, my mum's life has improved significantly and she is now living a quality life. Though there are certain things that she is not able to regain back (such as remembering days), her condition has stopped deteriorating further and the frequency of her sudden moments of going blur has decreased significantly. Thanks to Dr Tay's advice, she is now much happier and less anxious. She has accepted her condition and is making effort to take care of herself better. And nowadays she comes out of Dr Tay's clinic with laughter and smiles. Really appreciate what Dr Tay has done for my mum 🥰🥰. And also thanks to the staff nurses at Dr Tay's clinic. Always so friendly and helpful 🥰.
