Earlier this year, right after Chinese New Year, my brother was rushed to A&E due to sudden unconsciousness. He underwent emergency brain surgery for an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) and remained in a vegetative state for several months. During that time, he was fully dependent on tube feeding and a tracheostomy; and was not yet ready for occupational or speech therapy. Our family felt completely lost, we didn’t know what could be done to support his recovery. Then a friend told us about ReGen Rehab Hospital, which specializes in stroke and neurorehabilitation. We reached out to learn more, and were fortunate to meet Mr. Siang, who patiently explained their services and structured rehabilitation programs. It was through him that we began to understand how crucial a tailored therapy plan is for neuro patients. My brother was admitted to ReGen in mid-July. Within just one month under Dr. Kavitha’s care, we began to see meaningful changes in his awareness and responsiveness. He started turning his head toward us when we called his name, something we had never seen before. That moment gave us hope. More recently, we’ve noticed his body beginning to show movement, and he’s able to tolerate breathing on his own when the tracheostomy is occluded. Again, we feel hopeful that he may be able to wean off the tracheostomy soon. What truly impressed us is how ReGen’s medical team provides individualized care, with weekly goals to track progress. Their attention to detail, patient privacy, and the warm, healing environment all contribute to recovery, not just physically, but emotionally for families like ours. We are deeply grateful to Mr. Siang, Dr. Kavitha, Ms. Katherine(CS), the dedicated nursing team, and the physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy team, especially Ms. Siow and Ms. Syahida . Thank you for giving our family hope again. Based on our experience and the remarkable progress we’ve witnessed in my brother’s recovery, we wholeheartedly recommend ReGen Rehab Hospital to any family navigating the challenges of neurorehabilitation. Their structured programs, compassionate team, and commitment to patient-centered care have made a profound difference in our lives.

I could probably write several pages on this but decided to keep this short. This place, the staff and the level of care is terrific. 2 months ago my mother suffered a stroke and ended up in a place that was not suited to her situation. As you know, stroke patients have a limited window of time to regain their physical and cognitive function. Desperate for a better outcome for my mum, I discovered ReGen Rehab Hospital and was able to see a stroke rehab specialist within a few days. We subsequently admitted mum into the hospital, with the primary goal of getting her upright and walking. Throughout our stay, I found the therapists to be very knowledgeable in their respective fields. They treated mum with respect and dignity, while encouraging her to continuously push her boundaries. Overall, I found the hospital to be very well organised. Doctors made their rounds regularly to check on patients and to speak to caregivers, staff appeared to operate in sync, processes ran like clockwork and it felt like everyone was pulling towards the same direction. The facilities are well appointed to provide patients with all the necessary stimulus to succeed. From Day 1, the staff had mum standing and walking with assistance. I saw the light of conviction return to her eyes. The daily rehab was intensive, a la bootcamp as we had opted for 3 sessions per day lasting 1 hour each. Sessions were a mix of physio, occupational and speech therapy. I was with mum almost every step of the way, learning from and shadowing the therapists, on how to continue with mum's care and rehabilitation once she is back home. I am thrilled to report that mum is finally home after 2 weeks of stay. She still has a long way to go in terms of recovery and ambulation, but we achieved our goal of bringing mum back to the familiarity and comfort of her own home, supported and surrounded by her loved ones. Throughout her stay at ReGen Rehab Hospital, Mum worked very hard, and the staff also strived to provide her with every opportunity to succeed. I cannot recommend this facility highly enough. Special shout out to the entire team (Dr. Kavitha, PT Yeoh and PT Gan, OT Shivaani, ST Nadiya as well as the awesome nursing staff too numerous to mention), for enabling my mother, and helping her to reclaim some measure of quality of life that she deserves.

Almost 3 months at ReGen was one of the best experiences in my life. I will tell you why. First, i'd like to thank SOCSO officer Atikah who recommended ReGen as my rehabilitation place for my spinal cord injuries. My gratitude and appreciation to Dr Kavitha, Dr Tan and Dr Afikah who continuously monitor and advised on any matters related to my health and condition. At ReGen, the day starts with Group Theraphy (GT) for PT. I've the chance to meet other patients who are having different kinds of illness and together we do aerobics n exercises based on our capabilities. I'd like to thank the PT therapists involved like Ana (miss to hear her saying 10 more ), Nazrin, Cha, Sean Michael n Miza. They were also assisted by the juniors like Izzati senior, izzati junior n faiz. 2nd GT is at 4pm. It was led by OT therapists like Shivani, Lau and Ming Tze. Here we're exposed to activities like charades, arts, colouring and games to name a few. This session is more relaxing after having physical therapies from morning and evening. Kudos to them for handling fun activities even though a few of us are very bad in arts n colouring. Everyday, for bed ridden patient like me needs an OT theraphy. At ReGen, my beautiful OT therapist, Nik Areena has done a remarkable job. Thank you for your patience in assisting and teaching me how to continue to have a normal life despite my incapabilities. Last but not least, to my favourite PT therapist in the world, Gan. No words can describe how much your dedication and helpfulness mean to me. Your patience and humbleness amazed me. Despite my difficulties and cries (3 times only rite) on doing the given tasks, you never give up on me. From bed ridden to capable to walk without walking aid, i owed so much to you Gan. Furthermore, the 2 hours we spent every day, made me more open to discuss or sharing any difficulties that i have during the physio or other theraphy sessions with you. Thank you also to the manager, Ruby who monitored us from far and will give valuable inputs to the therapists in bringing the best in us. Not to forget all the nurses, CA and RA who took care of me since the first day. To name a few, Anis, Hajar, Cila, Afiqah, Paul, Yong, Fatin Alia, Rathi, Tharshini, Sagu, Darshini. These people treated me like their own mother. Thank you guys. I pray for all the names mentioned above have a blessed lives ahead. I love you guys so much. ReGen definitely brings us back to our normal life like before. Really miss u ReGen. Sincerely, Siti Zubaidah Mohamed

In late November 2024, I suffered a stroke while at Puteri Harbour, Johor Bahru, which left me unable to move my right arm and leg. After an unsatisfactory experience at a nearby private hospital and for logistic reasons, I was transferred to ReGen Rehabilitation Hospital on the sixth day. At ReGen, under the care of Dr. Kavitha Ratnalingam, I began in-patient neurorehabilitation. Over the course of four weeks, I received dedicated care from a team of rehabilitation professionals. A tailored recovery plan helped me regain movement in my hand and leg by the second week. By the third week, I could stand and take small steps with a quadripod. My right hand also regained basic movements. After discharge, I continued outpatient therapy and made steady progress. I returned to work by the end of March 2025 and am still undergoing treatment at ReGen. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Kavitha, the in-patient rehab nurses, both Ms. Chelvi and Ms. Ruby and their entire rehabilitation teams (both in-patient and outpatient) for their professionalism, dedication and excellent care throughout my rehabilitation journey. A very special thanks to Ms. Lishaalini, her extremely professional, dedicated and friendly physiotherapist, who successfully treated my prolonged shoulder pain and significantly improved my mobility. I’m glad to be able to walk without a walking stick. A heartfelt thank you to my occupational therapist, Ms. Shivaani, for her incredible professionalism, unwavering support and encouragement since my first day at ReGen. I’ve made great progress and am now able to write, sign and perform many basic hand functions. My sincere thanks to Mr. Xiang, Ms. Katherine and the entire rehab team — Cha, Sha, Ming Tze, Anna, Hannah, Nazrin, Trisha, Ira, Anirah, Ras, Jey, Cyber, Ezatty, Gan, Huda, El, Haikal, Ros, Fatin and many others, who have attended to, guided and supported me throughout my time at ReGen. Choosing ReGen was the best decision for my recovery and I highly recommend ReGen to anyone in need of neurorehabilitation. To all stroke survivors: stay strong, keep going and never give up.
