I had an incredibly positive prenatal and birth experience at Gleneagles Hospital Penang under the care of Dr Lakshmi Paramananda, who was truly exceptional. From the very beginning, Dr Lakshmi was warm, pleasant, and incredibly generous with her time at every prenatal visit. She never made me feel rushed and always ensured that I was well taken care of. Her kindness, patience, and thoughtful advice gave me so much confidence and reassurance throughout my pregnancy. On the day of delivery, my water broke early in the morning. Dr Lakshmi still gave me the opportunity and time to try for a vaginal birth. However, after several hours with no progress (remaining at 1cm dilation), she was very honest and clear in her advice to proceed with a C-section to minimise any risks to both me and my baby. I truly appreciated her transparency and professionalism in that moment. She was also incredibly accommodating and generous —she managed to fit the procedure into her schedule quickly and even classified it as a planned C-section rather than an emergency C-section, which I truly appreciate especially due to the cost difference between the two. She went above and beyond by making the effort to allow my husband into the operating theatre upon my request, which meant so much to me. During the C-section, Dr Lakshmi was amazing. She kept me calm and reassured, speaking to me throughout the procedure. One moment I will never forget is how she showed my baby to me first before passing him to the paediatrician—it was such a special and meaningful touch. My recovery has also been excellent. My C-section scar has healed beautifully and is barely visible. Dr Lakshmi personally cleaned my wound and provided multiple follow-ups after surgery, often at minimal to no cost, which I found incredibly kind and generous. Her post-surgery care was outstanding—she prescribed effective medication to keep pain to a minimum and consistently checked in on my recovery. For someone so accomplished, it is truly remarkable how kind, humble, and down-to-earth Dr Lakshmi is. I am so grateful to her for giving me such a positive and reassuring birth experience. I will always be thankful to her for bringing my baby safely into this world. I would also like to give a special shoutout to Victoria for her wonderful service—she made the entire experience even more pleasant, especially for a first-time mother like me.

I was arrived on Sunday to meet dr. Lakshmi, the gynecologist for check up. Doctor explain very detail, easy to understand for patient ( this should give two thumbs up), nurse is caring and loving. The operation is scheduled, every step done professionally. Great team work!!

My first birth experience on 26/01/26 with Dr. Lakshmi was truly unforgettable. She’s incredibly skilled, attentive to my needs, yet always made sure everything was safe and the best for me. At the same time, she’s warm, gentle, and cheerful.. the kind of doctor who makes you feel at ease even in the most intense moments. 🥰 During my induced contractions, she stayed calm and patient, waiting with a smile even though it was already late at night. Her positivity gave me the strength to focus, and I believe that’s why my recovery was smooth and quick. ❤️ I’ll never forget being in the delivery room, seriously saying “I don’t want to give birth again” while totally stoned from the gas 🤣 but honestly, if I’m blessed with another baby, I’d still choose Dr. Lakshmi over n over again 🫶🏻

I had a hysterectomy at Gleneagles Hospital. Dr. Lakshmi is a very caring, kind, and meticulous doctor. After understanding my condition, her extensive experience allowed her to schedule the surgery as quickly as possible. Dr. Lakshmi performed the laparoscopic surgery very well; I was able to walk easily the day after the surgery, without any pain, and my recovery was rapid. During my hospital stay, I also received excellent care from the nurses; they were all very patient, gentle, and full of love. I am deeply grateful for Dr. Lakshmi's consultation and treatment, and for the care from all the nurses and medical staff! Thank you!
