Alhamdulillah, thank you Dr. Mastura Mokhtar, O&G specialist from KPJ Selangor, Shah Alam. We feel it's not too late to express our appreciation to her for helping deliver our second child last year. We were worried it would be like our first child, but alhamdulillah, it was a normal delivery without any incidents. Unlike the delivery of our first child (at another private hospital with a different specialist), Dr. Mastura personally conducted the delivery from the beginning this time. At the hospital for our first child, a senior midwife wanted to conduct the delivery too early without the presence of a specialist. As a result, my wife became overly exhausted (almost an hour and a half after she was told to push, until the specialist arrived 40 minutes later and took over) + the baby needed vacuum extraction + my wife had postpartum hemorrhage and almost fainted + required a red blood cell transfusion. We vowed never to go back to that hospital and would never recommend it to anyone. We were swayed by other people's social media reviews, and the bill was much more expensive than KPJ, but KPJ's service was more satisfactory in my opinion. Private hospital SOPs should not allow midwives to act independently without the presence of a specialist, especially when patients are paying for specialist services. Dr. Mastura is indeed a very experienced senior O&G specialist. We could see this when she understood our first child's case during the first consultation session. Her reaction and response were very reassuring/comforting compared to other hospitals (we had actually surveyed several private hospitals). This made us confident and we immediately booked an appointment to deliver at KPJ. Thank you, Dr. Mastura, for helping us and fulfilling our last-minute epidural request. We apologize for not being able to attend the postpartum appointment as it was difficult to request leave from work. Our child and wife are alhamdulillah healthy to this day. What we appreciated was that she was not rushed; she was calm and relaxed, perhaps due to her extensive experience. She was still able to accept the epidural request, even though I know she was concerned we might feel it wasn't financially worthwhile given how last-minute the request was. For those who are currently looking for a female O&G specialist, we highly recommend Dr. Mastura. Especially if you have had an unpleasant experience from a previous delivery, you can consult her first and decide afterward, just like we did. I delivered my second baby at KPJ Shah Alam on 25 April 2025 at 1.11am and had another amazing experience here. All my O&G checkups were with Dr. Mastura—she and her PA were very helpful and made every appointment comfortable. The labour room staff were kind and supportive, especially during delivery. Thank you so much to Dr. Mastura for her calm guidance and gentle care. I had minimal pain after the procedure thanks to her. Post-delivery care was excellent too. The ward staff were attentive and took great care of my baby, always checking in to see if I needed help. Special thanks to Kak Syam, the experienced lactation nurse who explained breastfeeding thoroughly and even guided me on using the KPJ app to collect points. I had both my babies at KPJ Shah Alam and the service has always been top-notch. 5-star treatment at a very reasonable cost. Highly recommended!

I had a great experience when admitted in KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital. Services and hospitality provided in Maternity ward 2B and labour room really makes me comfortable and happy staying there for 3D2N during my delivery process. Special thanks to Dr Mastura, my first o&g and will be my always o&g - she is really soft and very helpful. Her calm guidance and gentle care make me calm and excited to deliver the baby. I had difficulty in deliver my baby since this is my first delivery but all the staff in ward, UM Azila, UM Shubashini and all the labour room staff that attended me were very kind and supportive from the beginning until safely delivered my baby. My post-delivery care was really good. The ward staff were attentive, supportive and took a great care of me and my baby. Thanks to everyone that gives 5-star treatment and services.
