Dr. Michael Wong Pak Kai is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Sunway Medical Centre. He obtained his medical degree from The University of Sheffield (UK) and completed his Master of Surgery at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He speaks multiple languages including English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Foochow. Dr. Wong has completed subspecialty fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery in Thailand and Malaysia, and also holds a JCMT (Japan Council of Medical Training) certification. His areas of expertise include Colon & Rectum Surgery, Proctology, Minimally Invasive Surgery and Advanced Endoscopy, and Lower Gastrointestinal Functional Disorders. He is also actively involved in research, focusing on Clinical Nutrition, Fundamental Research in Oncology, and Clinical Research Trials & Ethics. He presented at a public forum about risk factors of colorectal cancer, and has featured in a video explaining anal fistulas.
