I’m writing this review with deep gratitude for Dr. Toh Tsun Haw, Consultant Neurologist at Pantai Hospital Melaka. My mother has been living with Parkinson’s disease for about six years and is under follow-up with a government hospital. Over the past two years, our family noticed a significant decline in her condition: she felt weak all the time and struggled with simple daily activities like standing up from the chair or going to the toilet independently. She sits at home all day and refuses to socialise with others due to her PD condition. We decided to seek second opinion from Dr. Toh, and it was one of the best decisions we’ve made. Dr. Toh took the time to carefully understand my mother’s condition, her symptoms, and her existing medication regimen. What stood out most was his attention to detail and thoughtful, patient-centered approach. I was there personally during every appointment accompanying my mom. He made several small but crucial adjustments to her medications such as adding a nighttime dose and introducing another medication to help prolong the effect of her current Parkinson’s medication. These changes may have seemed minor, but the impact was truly life-changing. Within just three months of monthly follow-ups, my mother’s condition improved tremendously. Today, she has more energy and is able to function more independently. Willing to get out of the house to exercise and socialise again. It feels like she has been given a second chance at life, and as her daughter, I cannot express how much this means to me and our family. Thank you, Dr. Toh, for your expertise, compassion, and dedication. This is truly credit where credit is due. Highly recommended to everyone who is dealing with PD! Just a piece of advice: teamwork between the dr and the patient is necessary to achieve the treatment goal that we aimed for.
