I was referred by Queen Elizabeth Hosp (QEH) Kota Kinabalu, Sabah to seek urgent biopsy to confirm my ailments regarding my lungs and the tumors in my brain which was done in MRI and CTs.. Dr Ian was already wt the reviews he recd from QEH and took control by the time we arrived at SMC Damansara on 08July2025. He is very professional and upfront and explained all the pros and cons which gave me so much confidence in him. All procedures was done on the same day but of course due to my advanced ailments, i have to stay on for a few days to get better. SMC Damansara did excellently in taking care of me every hourly until i hv stabilized. Dr Ian and Dr Poh and his team took care of me in HDU until i am better and moved to a normal wad until i checked out on 11July2025. I am not a rich person and i have limited funds to seek help urgently so that i will be able to know how long i have or what type of treatment i will be able to take in future once the biopsy can confirm and i am able to see a brighter future because Dr Ian showed me that there is always hope and treatment to assist me and my family in Sabah. I will always be so grateful to him personally and SMC Damansara for the rest of my life. In future i will try my best to go to SMC Damansara as priority whenever i can to seek assistance because the people there have a heart, thank you so much.

My husband was admitted to the emergemcy ward and the doctor & nurses on duty were very efficient and fast to attend to my husband who had difficulty in breathing. He was attended to by Dr.Ian Soo and similarly excellent doctor with clear explanation. He was able to detect the problem within the lungs very quickly. This is our first experience at this medical centre and we compliment it on its efficiency and professionslism..

My sister has a rare mitochondrial disease with respiratory failure. Dr. Ian has been following up with her for years for her NIV treatment. He is very dedicated to his craft—diligent, caring, and compassionate. He’s concerned, kind, and professional in every aspect. I don’t think I’ve met another physician who is so patient. Serving is his true vocation—he’s in it because he genuinely cares, and it doesn't feel like it's for monetary gain .

Dr Ian is quite possibly the most dedicated and caring doctor i have ever met. He went through all the trouble of helping me obtain my BIPAP machine and also takes the time and effort to optimise my BIPAP treatment. He is truly a doctor with a heart for his patients. Always seeking for ways to help his patients and improve their treatment and condition. I highly recommend Dr Ian to anyone having respiratory issues.

Dr. Ian was very responsive and took the time to communicate with me closely before the procedure. On the day itself, he explained everything thoroughly and patiently, which helped ease our concerns.
