For me, a good doctor is one who always prioritizes the patient's safety and health above all else. I was fortunate to meet Dr. Lee Zhen-Vin at Damansara Specialist Hospital 2, and he is indeed a good doctor. In April of this year, I began experiencing frequent shortness of breath, chest tightness, and chest pain, sometimes even numbness in my left arm. I contacted Dr. Lee Zhen-Vin, and after understanding my situation, he advised me to undergo two tests: an echocardiogram (Echo) and a stress test. The reports confirmed abnormalities in my heart muscle, and the stress test indicated vascular blockage. However, the extent of the blockage needed to be determined through an angiogram. Dr. Lee Zhen-Vin explained in detail why an angiogram was necessary and also informed me that if the blockage was found to exceed a dangerous level, angioplasty would have to be performed concurrently. Furthermore, he meticulously explained all the potential risks associated with the procedure, not concealing even risks less than 0.01%. After discussing with my family and weighing the risks, I was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday with my family by my side. On Wednesday, I underwent the angiogram in the operating room. With the use of advanced equipment, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Dr. Lee Zhen-Vin clearly assessed the degree of my vascular blockage. As the blockage exceeded 90%, angioplasty had to be performed simultaneously. Before proceeding with the angioplasty, he again explained the procedure to my family and me, and after obtaining our consent, he and the professional medical team commenced the angioplasty. The entire procedure, from entering the operating room to returning to the ward, took approximately 3 hours. Dr. Lee Zhen-Vin maintained a focused attitude throughout, showing no signs of negligence. After the angioplasty, I rested in my room. That evening, Dr. Lee Zhen-Vin personally visited me to check on my recovery and offer encouragement. The next day, despite his busy schedule, he still made time to advise me on post-discharge care. After my hospital stay, I returned home to continue my recovery. During this period, I noticed feelings of anxiety, which I communicated to Dr. Lee Zhen-Vin. He responded promptly, offering repeated explanations and guidance. Three months have passed, and I have returned to work. However, I still experience occasional post-surgery anxiety, and Dr. Lee Zhen-Vin consistently offers encouragement without any sign of impatience or neglect. It is not easy to find a professional doctor, and it is even more difficult to find one who is both professional and caring towards patients. I am fortunate to have met Dr. Lee Zhen-Vin. Thank you again; because of you, I not only avoided a potential sudden death but have also been able to embrace a new 'heartfelt' life. On a side note, I would also like to thank Damansara Specialist Hospital 2. The environment here is excellent, and the medical staff are very friendly. To share a little secret, the food here is incredibly delicious, unlike typical hospital meals, and I could eat it with confidence even after surgery.
